I talked to a dealer near me and she quoted me around $27,900 for a 2006 gt 5 speed with 18 inch polished bullets, IUP, shaker 500 and that is with taxes and tags. If I can get it out the door for $27500 should I jump on it.. Thanks for the help and this is my first post and im ready to get my new stang.

You should go to this site and price out the car you listed above.

Ford Mustang Pricing

Then go in and tell them that if they give you X-Plan right now then they have a sale

On the road a few hundred under sticker isn't a bad deal. If you can get it for $27500 jump on it.

Sounds like a decent deal. It's the deals that seem too good to be true are the ones that are too good to be true.

XPlan price would be around $26,200.

Its a discount program through Ford. Usually you get it through the company you work for.
* X-Plan
Pre-determined price based on dealer invoice or A-Plan price depending on brand.
The X-Plan price is noted on the dealer invoice (except for
Land Rover and Jaguar)
Ford/Mercury
Invoice minus 0.4% of Invoice

Lincoln
Invoice plus 0.6% of Invoice

Volvo
A-Plan + 2% of A-Plan

Land Rover
Invoice plus 4% of Invoice (excluding Regional Advertising Group fee and destination & delivery fee).

Jaguar
Invoice plus 4% of Invoice (excluding Advertising Association Fee and destination & delivery fee).

I work at a bank and I asked them if we got any discounts through ford and they didnt think so. So I dunno I am going to double check though, but I still thought it was a decent price. Another dealer quoted me $33000 because he said they are doing a $4000 mark up.

If it is Bank of America you work at then I believe they are xplan.

If that's included taxes and tabs, go for it. Sounds good to me.

*** Edit ***

Of course if mine wasn't going to be here in a week or two, I would tell you to keep looking around. I wouldn't want you to enjoy the fun that much before me.

No I wish I was driving it already and it was mine, but I am going to the dealer after work to talk numbers and test drive one for the third time because I will have to ordre mine and wait and they are a blast to drive. I actually just had another dealer call me and said if they give it to me for $27500 he will beat it by $500 dollars if I show him a written offer so I will cross my fingers and see what I can do, thanks all.

Sounds pretty close to the price above, add tax tags and processing fees to that.

Is the dealership the closest one to your house and do they offer anything like loaners? Getting something like a lifetime service loaners is worth $500 as opposed to going ghetto getting rides to drop off your car forever. What's your state tax? Generally, if you are under MSRP out the door you really cant go wrong on any car(unless its somewhere like DE with NO sales tax...). Worring about a couple o three hundred bucks is stupid if you give up a dealer service like a loaner. If the other dealer offers it then go there. If you are financing make sure the rate corresponds to your credit-or get it from your bank or credit union.

Both dealers are 10 minutes from my house. I am going to ask them today if either one offer loaner cars. I think virginia is 4.5% I may be wrong but its around their. I am going to check around and see who can offer the best financing rate. Thanks

I believe there's only ONE dealer who offers loaners. KevinB's dealership
does and they have TWO locations. You may want to see if that dealership
can take care of you even if they're not in the running (other two).
I got mine there in November. It was an excellent buying experience.

Dude,
Virginia must not have the inventory that Alabama has of GT's.
They are going for 21,000 - 23,000 here, out the door. no xplan, etc.
The window stickers are 26,000 - 27,000

Those prices are crazy! Must be hurricane cars that got fixed. Yeah the MD, DC, VA area doesn't have that many GTs this time of year. You can get all the V6's you want!

Base dealer invoice with freight is right around $24,000 on a GT coupe with NO options; so NO dealer is going to sell one for $1000 - $3000 UNDER INVOICE out the door, period!
