Global Window feature... Refresh my memory
I believe all with the active car alarm came with it. It came from the factory de-activated, the dealer had to activate. The stopped activating them for liability issues.

Some have it, including myself. They were active right from the factory. They stopped including it after several reports of windows automatically rolling down while the car was off. Personally I have never seen that happen nor have I ever had it happen with my car. However I have had times where I would use the auto up feature on the passenger side and it would roll up 3/4's of the way and then roll down. The fix was to hold the button in the up position until the window was closed, release the button and then hold it in the up position again for 5 seconds. This would reset the sensor. I have to do that about twice a year. No big deal.
I have no idea if I have it. I know it doesn't work though. Actually I'm not really sure what the difference in the alarms are/ if I have it and it's just not activated. I have an 05 gt premium. it would be nice if it did work though

I have active anti-theft in my 05 and use the global window feature as I'm walking up to the car to let the heat out of the car. Never had a problem with the feature yet. In fact it's one of the few systems on this first model year that's never given me issues.
I believe active anti-theft option gives you a larger battery (unless that's for the shaker 1000), interior motion sensor, remote alarm back-up battery and sounder, incline/anti-tow sensor.

My old 2005 V6 5-speed had this feature, so it wasn't just automatics... I *did* have the active anti-theft feature too.
Man, I LOVED that feature (and still use it about every day on the Mini I have). But I miss it on the '06 I have... Why they never fixed the feature and brought it back is beyond me...

Also what are you using to find this info about your car.

I heard some whinny babies complained about the windows going down automatically when they weren't supposed, maybe in the rain. Suckholes just should have read their owners manuals to understand how the key fob worked and not jammed so much in their pockets with their keys.
Then Ford reprogrammed all the cars that they still had on the lots and dropped the feature from new manufactured cars part way through the 05 model year. Some cars may have even been reflashed during dealer service if owners already had the feature.
Crazy thing is it is now the feature is found on all sorts of newer cars. We have this on our 09 Chrysler minivan (yeah, ick), it was on the 09 Challenger we had and it is on our 12 Grand Cherokee. I wish I had this on my 06 GT.

I was using the vin decoder that is also posted in another thread. Still haven't found out much I'm going to try to research a little further. I'll update again if I find out more.
