I will soon have the GT, I was wondering if anyone is getting cars in oncoming traffic flashing their brights back at you when you have the foglights on, perhaps they are thinking you have the brights on. Anyone have this happen to them? And if so, often?

Surprisingly, only once! And that was in front of my house.

I've actually had more people flash my Nissan P.U. than all four lights blazin on my GT.

Maybe they know they're fog lights, and they're telling you they're being blinded. Fog lights are for fog, obviously....they have a wide distribution pattern, and are usually pointed straight ahead, not down. So any oncoming cars get the full effect of them.

So please, if it's not foggy, turn the things off.

Whatever they are called, they are cool as heck and I use any excuse to turn them on, night, fog rain, anything but a clear sunny day, since other than night time we dont get to many opportunities to need them here in SoCal, with the exception of lately, but I dont have my car right now so thats a mute point. But no I dont get flashed back.

I live in a rural area and go to work in the early am. I have been flashed only once so they must not be too bad for the oncoming trafic. I used to get flashed all the time with my F150.

Foglights aren't usually pointed ahead. They're pointed down and slightly to the side to provide illumination at ground level. If they were pointed ahead, you'd be blinded from the reflection coming back from the fog.

I've seen a couple of '05s at night with fogs on and there's no way it's blinding anyone. They just see four lights and assume brights are on. They're too moronic to understand they aren't being blinded.

I got a few flashes when i first got the car, seems like people are getting used to the new stangs now.I ALWAYS drive with them on because,it keeps idiots, drunks, cell phone users and other assorted bad drivers aware of me.I find I have less people cutting me off and pulling out in front of me so I may live a bit longer with them on.

Not yet. IMO they aren't even that bright. If anything it's just a bit unusual to see a vehicle with four lights at grille level.

Ah, good point. Duh. The ones I've been blinded by must have been either driving lights or aligned horribly. Thanks.

BTW, how do you like your Mazda6? I'm thinking of getting a wagon in a few months.

I have been flashed once. Probably just from a dip or hill in the road. The precision driving lights are quite bright. I really notice the ground light up when I turn them on. They are pointed down, so usually others don't get blinded by them. Even with the headlights on. But too darn bad for them. My lights, my switch, TDB. And I think other drivers do notice me more with them on.

I love it! I test drove the competitors (Accord/Camry/Altima) and none of them compare in terms of driving dynamics and style. I'm still trying to figure out a way to keep the 6 and buy a new Mustang!

All the time. They flash me there brights and I flash them mine. Then I watch in the mirrors to see if they recover and pull themselves out of the ditch.

I've been flashed twice since Nov 16 and I have mine on all the time. They definitely are fog lights, not driving lights; they greatly increase the illumination of the road directly in front of the car but not beyond the low beams. If you turn your headlamps off and just leave the fog lamps on, you chould see how much less distance they illuminate. I encounter lots of other vehicles around here with 4 lights on and the only ones that blind me are the ones that really do have their highbeams on. My .02 worth....
