By gears, what every one is referring to is the rear differential.

What do you gain? Better Acceleration, because you have more torque multiplication, but lower speeds in each gear at a given RPM

What do you loose? Gas mileage because at cruise the engine is spinning faster.

 

Try typing not in all capital letters too. That way every word won't be capitilzed. The forum computer will correct all caps and replace them with capitlized first letters.
