Fun driving our new Mustang!

Our new 2007 redfire Mustang GT convertible wasn't supposed to be here until February 7th, but we picked her up Friday night (Jan 19th).

We took her out for a spin around town yesterday. Here in Northern California the sun was shining and it was warm enough to put the top down. She received lots of admiring looks from folks as we drove around.

We dropped by another couple's house and took our friends for a drive around town too. They loved our Mustang and we really had a fun time! Our friend Jane said that she loved seeing someone finally getting something that they really wanted for a long time.

Later on when I was parked in our driveway adjusting the sound on the cd player and the Sirius Satellite radio, a couple of neighbor friends came over and visited. They liked our Mustang and reminisced about the favorite cars they owned from back in the day (a '57 Ford Fairlane 500 and a '67 Camaro).

I selected a station on the satellite radio that played music from the 1960's and took off for another drive. It was as good as it gets.

Ford recognized our X-Plan order on November 7th and our Mustang order was categorized as "Unscheduled Clean" on November 13th. We didn't have a very long wait for our Mustang compared to a lot of other folks.

We really like the power passenger seat that comes with the comfort group because my wife can adjust the seat so she has good visibility.

We're really happy we decided to get the GT, even though when we rented a V-6 during a vacation, we thought it had enough power for us and beautiful styling too. However, we really love the way our GT looks, the muscular V-8 exhaust sounds, and the extra power.

I guess we could have removed our garbage cans before taking these pictures, and taken better pictures too, but we were pretty excited and enjoying driving our new Mustang to be anything but spontaneous. I'll post some better pictures in the future.

Congrats!!!!!!!! Thank goodness they don't charge based on the fun factor, or this car would be unaffordable.

I don't see our pictures either. Thanks FRITZ for bringing that to my attention.

When I posted last night, it looked like our photos were being attached to my post when I previewed it. Sorry, I was tired and must have goofed up. I'll try to post them again.

Thanks for the good comments guys. Yes, we're thrilled with our new Mustang!

Yes, this Mustang certainly resurected the fun factor. A truly exciting car.

And finally Chrysler and GM are about to add their flavor to the excitement.

In many ways just like it was 40 years ago...

Mine was ordered Nov 13th and delivered on the 9th of january. Couldn't be happier, have had the top down every time it hit the street. Drove to work today in partially cloudy skies and mid 70s, looking forward to the drive home.

Congrats Ed . It's always nice to hear a story like yours, Mustangs are great cars and the people who drive them usually have some history to their love of the car. Looking forward to the pics.

Congratulations Ed! It seems like a long time ago you were by my house to look at mine. Great choice of color and of course the ragtop is a winner in my book. I'll see ya on the street sometime soon I'm sure.
