Fumoto valve & k-member brace?

Has anyone tried installing a fumoto oil drain valve and have a k-member brace? I know my CHE brace is pretty tight with the factory drain plug, like when removed the oil stream hits the brace.

It works fine--I'm running that exact setup. When you thread it in, orient the valve so the lever is is at 12:00. There is *just* enough room to let it fully open, but I usually only open it about 3/4 or so since it is easier to close it back up due to the minimal clearance between the brace.

Do you have the stock brace? I have a hard time picturing it working with an upgraded K-Member Brace.

I have an '06, so no stock brace was on the car. I have the CHE brace. I'm planning on an oil change tomorrow, so if I remember I'll take some pics of it.

Out of curiosity what part number was the fumoto oil drain valve? As a matter of fact what kind of thread does our oil pan have? If you know that would be great.

Here's a link to the valve on the Moss Mustang site ...

Having some second thoughts, I was going to get one for my Subaru too but reading those boards the guys found it doesn't allow the pan to completely drain. Small amount, but the bottom of the pan is the probably the nastiest part.

There's an easy fix that I did using a dremel--notch it the same depth that protrudes into the pan (I did 4 notches).

It's overly paranoid, though, since when you are changing the oil it is hopefully warm from a recent run, which means the bottom of the pan shouldn't be any nastier than the main flow. The residual few ounces of "dirty" oil is pretty negligible. And I'll bet we all change our oil more frequently than needed, using sythetic, making it that much more unnecessary. Yet I still did it...go figure.
