I just did, there wasn't. And I knew this was discussed before. I wanted to see exactly what the percentage was of people who had this issue versus those who have not had this issue so that when and if my fine vehicle comes, I will know what my chances are of having this issue happen to me (If that is OK with the powers that be on this site). Man is there a full moon tonight because everyone seems on edge.

There is a thing called search at the top of your screen. Use it.

Do as I say not as I do?

Dealer just called. They fixed my global window open/close problem but the fuel tank is on backorder. She told me there are 300 on backorder. It might take 3 days or 3 weeks for the part to come in so I'm picking up my car and just waiting for them to call.

Filled up for the first time yesterday - no filling problem at all and the first tank was at 20 mpg. I breathed a sigh of relief and was pleasantly surprised at the economy for that first tankfull.

Kevin, none of the "powers that be on this site" gave you a hassle for posting a poll. Someone suggested you use the search, if you did and didnt find what you needed, then posting it was fine.

I dont know about the full moon, but I am going to start on the Valium again.

Edit to add: I didnt have issues for the first 2 tank fulls... then ol Ray decided to start being difficult. Its not a big enough problem that I am not still lovin my car. Just look a tad funny at the pump every 5 days or so.

Whatever, like walking on egg shells sometimes on this site. When I first joined I thought everyone was cool, now it's like my god, do a bunch of jerks and bullies own this car?? LOL, chill, just a joke people, but some of you really like to point out others mistakes, and no, not just the powers that be.

I voted no.

Last tuesday, I had my first fueling problem with my car, at the same gas station I always go to. I think it was the spigot though, the locking lever would not stay on but as long as I held it myself, it kept fueling, no shutting off.

I work at a dealership. As soon as I found the TSB, I had my parts dept. order me one. A few days later they got a call saying they needed an open R.O. because they were back-ordered, but it showed up that day. I guess I just beat the rush...

Just hit the 200 mile mark today, and hit the gas station for Big Bird's first fill-up. She has the fuel tank problem.

I pumped maybe a gallon before it shut off the first time. Then less than that and it shut off again. So then I pumped it in real slowly and the pump didn't shut off again until maybe 12 gallons or so had pumped. I wasn't sure if it was full or not, so I kept going, and then it kept shutting off, until finally the gas overflowed the tank... It finally took 13.5 gallons, so getting the last gallon in was a pain.

I called my salesman when I got home and told him about the TSB. He wasn't aware of it, but then mine is the only Mustang that he personally sold. Anyway, he said it might be the pump, because he filled up my car before I took delivery, and said he had no problems. He advised me against rushing into a replacement fuel tank, saying maybe I should just search around trying different pumps to see if I could find one that worked reliably. I kind of agree with that advice, so I'll just wait and see if it continues to be a problem.

EDIT: btw, the mileage for the first tank was 15.0 - about 90% city driving.

I ocassionally had the fueling problem, but ran into a new one over the weekend.

I'm standing there filling up kinda off in la-la land when it dawns on me it has taken an unusually long time to fill up. About that time I look at the pump and its at 14 gallons or so and that's when gas started going everywhere! The pump never shut off, slowed down, nothing

Mine goes in for a new tank tomorrow. It was ordered about 3 weeks ago. Just my opinion, but I don't want to have to search around for a station that is '05 Mustang friendly, I want to be able to put gas in wherever I want. Besides, if I'm travelling how will I know what station to use? I can't see where having a replacement gas tank that accepts fuel would be any kind of problem.

Here's a thought, why doesn't Ford just put this replacement tanks in all the Mustangs from this point on if people are having to replace the original ones?
