Fuel Tank Woes....
#23
I think the fuel in continental gas stations may be pumped at a greater pressure than those in the US. Many of us have the problem here in the UK, and no warranty to fix it. (The warranty is void as soon as the car is shipped out of the states) It can be a pain but I have found that a particular brand (BP) seems to full up much easier, besides you get more time to look at your car & people gawping at it!!

My '06 GT started out without the problems at fill up.
Then it developped the "spit back" and "shutoff before full blues".
Local dealer has told me the same spill, the TSB does not apply to my car, according to them, it already has the updated tank. Or so the TSB they gave me said.
So back to the standing on one foot and barely letting it trickle in the tank while turning the nozzle every which of way.
But what the heck, the car is worth the hassle.

here is the letter i wrote to the writer of the article and his response:
Mr. Giordano
Interesting observation on the first-year car glitch. That first run is for those 150,000 suckers, the following runs for the smart people.
Explains a lot about where Ford is in terms of domestic market share and overall financial health.
May we run your e-mail as a letter to the editor?
Thanks
Terry

How could you in your right mind publish a story like that. You have obviously done no research on the subject. Yes it was an issue, but it is no longer an issue. Ford issued a replacement gas tank and filler hose to correct the problem. I was one of the ones affected by this problem. Did I say screw ford? Did I want to unload a lemon? No because it is not a lemon. It is a first year production vehicle that has a bug. WOW what a shocker. IT HAPPENS. I have since had my tank replaced and have not seen the issue since. Try doing some research before you slam the car. Just for your enjoyment read this:
