Oh OK Just thought I would pass on somthing new to me...
I never let my fuel level get that low, but I was in traffic for two hours (Closed I-66 Truck fire)
and I was already low. I just made it to the Gas Station

That's the only way mine would ever get that low. I yell at the kids when they let the fuel get below a quarter tank!

BTW, when there are "0" miles remaining in your gas tank you still have about 1 gallon of gas, good for at least 15 miles.

On my old 88 Mustang which was my daily driver until late Jan made it past 325,000 miles and is still going strong (gets lots of rest now that I have an 06 Mustang GT) always went below the "E" before I filled up. What can I say, I don't like to get gas before I need it. Anyhow, I said I wasn't going to do this with the 06, and I didn't for one tank. The rest the gauge has turned red, the computer told me I was at 0 miles, and I just keep going. Anyhow, I do change fuel filters regularly, and it never seemed to have a negative effect on the old car. Maybe I need to wait and see what happens when the old car gets into the high mileage area to see if it will have an effect!

First time I saw it happen I thought MyColor was acting up because it went back to whatever colour I had. But I gues it comes on for a bit then goes back, then comes back, and so forth. Happened to me Friday for the Second time ever.

I would suggest that you don't let your tank get that low. Don't you worry about cavitating your fuel pump? I am sure that is not good for it.

holy crap dude, how did you manage to fill up 16gallons?

I go down low on gas all the time. the furthest i've driven on "0" miles was 14.7miles after it said it was completely empty. you know how much it let me fill up at the gas station? 15.005 gallons, which is the most ive ever been able to put in the tank at once. {bad quote}dude, im not even mad about that. im just impressed. wow.{/bad anchorman quote}

Lol. The display in the car said 15.3 gallons used when I did that. I did do about 10 more clicks on the pump to fill it way up. Ive never had a spillage issue.

I was running all my 87 octane out for a 93 octane tune.

Yeah... all the gauges do that when they are in the red

But I can't remember if the question was answered...what happens when you have the background RED...does it change it to a contrasting colour ??

WOW - I don't think I have ever gone below 10 miles to empty....

Previous three cars I have always 'tested the limits' and run out of gas in each..... vowed I wouldn't do that with the Stang.

0 miles to E - that's a great pic
