I'm sure most of you old-timers can relate to repacking the front wheel bearings.
The same type is used on the Ford Contour and has the tendency to fail early in those vehicles when driven hard. I'm not suprised that a Mustang could have the same failure when driven on a road course.
Meh... I'm sure it happens, but is insignficant in the greater scheme of things (or else there would have been a recall or TSB on the matter). For what its worth, I have a BMW front hub that uses the same setup as a paperweight on my desk.
Ford has been using this design on just about all their cars and trucks for a while now. I see no issue with it.
Like anything when it comes to pushing it in a race environment the factory parts simply do not hold up which is why most racers end up building there own stuff.
