As some of you may know I have to fly to pick my Mustang up and drive back home 500 miles.

Well I have been waiting for the word about my Mustang showing up at the dealer all week. I found out it was on the Ramp on the 4th, and was hoping to know something the night of the fifth. I was prepared to buy my plane ticket and fly out there today to pick it up.

Well I get a call today at about 4:30pm and my salesman says it got there this morning. So instead of knowing early today and going to pick it up and drive back I now get to wait until next saturday to pick it up.

I already brought that up but the wife won't let me plus I need the vacation time for taking my daughter to Disney in November.

Daughter smaughter!

That really stinks. I remember when I first got my mustang back in October. I was antsy every day waiting for it to arrive. Then I had to be antsy for another day while they installed Lo Jack.

Is your dealership open on Sundays? Get up first thing in the morning, drive over there and get it and drive back

It can be done, I've done 1,200 miles in a day before.

Nope that was my second question, if it was I would be on a plane right now.

Ah, I almost went down to Beaufort to talk to Keith at OC Ford about a 2005 Legend Limer they've got on the lot...ended up ordering a 2006 instead...

Good luck trying to get work done this week

There gotta be something....thinking thinking

1.flatbed truck it too you (maybe cheaper then flying)? fax paperwork....
2.ask boss if you can get off early...fly down there...drive her home at night...
3.get salesman to drive it to you...you pay for his flight home

Trucking it will be $475+ plane ticket is like $250

Boss thing might work I could do that easy but I would still be driving it back for 7 to 9 hours after I got there so the next workday would be shot up pretty bad. I'll think about that one.

I don't want anyone to drive my car but me

I feel for ya, I know you have been waiting a long time. All of your pain will go away when you get behind the wheel next Saturday.

My 2 cents for what its worth is fly down friday night so that you can enjoy the ride back on Saturday instead of racing the clock and driving all night after working all day. Don't risk damaging that awesome machine due to tired reflexes or a bad decision. The wait will be worth it.

Yeah right now my plan is to fly out early on Saturday morning and take a leisurely drive beck that night.

I already have financing and insurance so all I have to do is give them the check and sign the papers.

The extra three weeks of waiting after being picked up for QC and now this are not making anything sweeter.

Truthfully I don't think anything can make a new Mustang GT any sweeter, except $10,000 in go-fast parts.
