I've heard 6/24 thrown around as the last date Ford will pull orders for scheduling. Thus, wouldn't that make this Friday, 6/17, be the last day for those in CU to get their VIN for build date scheduling before 6/24?

My dealer still insists I'll have a VIN come Friday. We shall see. I know I ordered a lot later than many of those still waiting so I'm not too stressed about it. (Excited and still hopeful, but definitely not stressed.)

The end is near, we got vin last Friday with a built week of 7/18/05, if Ford shuts down for 2 weeks before starting the 06 in August I'd think the end is very neer.

Good Luck and let us know.

I don't remember seeing a definitive date for stopping 05 production. Someone suggested that they might run up all the way through the first week of August because the line wasn't changing very much.

June 24 sounds about right for the last cars to be serialized. They are pulled Thursday nights so the dates work out. I showed up as serialized on Friday and by Saturday or Sunday the message changed and I knew the build week.

They are doing some interesting scheduling right now. I was serialized on June 3rd and my build is scheduled for the week of Jul 18 (like MustangDan). Looks like some people were serialized the same week but have late June build weeks. I wonder if it is a supplier issue that is causing the difference.

Good luck with the order. Maybe you will be the last 05. A screaming yellow vert as the last car through would definitely be a Kodak moment.

Just saw on another forum that the plant is closed for 2 weeks in early July. That would explain the jump to the week of July 18th for some of our builds. Anyone know if the 2 week down time is true?

I read on another post somewhere here on TMS that the last build day for 05 was 6 August and the Job 1 for the 06 is 8 August. Looks like they get the weekend off and move right into the 06!

Thanks for the additional info. Not too sure that I would want my car built on the last day before they go on a 2 week vacation. Can probably say the same for a build on the first day or 2 back after the 2 weeks.

I think the first day or two back would be the best time because everyone is well rested and ready to work.

Thanks for the confirmation Ed. Brings back the question from a previous thread. Who will be the last TMS build. I'm guessing that somebody on the forum will get scheduled after MustangDan and myself. Could be you JDT, hope you get good news on Friday.

Thanks for the info Ed. Do you happen to know...are the first '06's down the line reserved for anything special or could it just be luck of the draw of orders from the order bank? What's the earliest date that '06's will hit lots?

Thanks

My Stang is scheduled to be built the week of 6/27.

Does this mean that shipping comes to a halt during those two weeks as well? Or is it just production??

According to Norman's dealer (above) it does include a stop on shipping. Ed, any word on that in Ford's bulletin?

The transport companies do not go on vacation BUT, the plants close. Threfore any car that made it out of the plant and either to the ramp or to the rail yard would still continue shipping. Any car that was built but not plant released would sit until the plant opened. At least that is how it has always happened in the past.

Pretty much luck of the draw.

i called ERL this morning...my car is still CU :bang:
does this mean i can forget about getting my car built?
really pretty disappointing. (i ordered first of March)

dealer told me ford is behind because they released the vert this year and that slowed production of the coupe.
dealer also said my order would just 'rollover' to an 06. but everything i have read on these forums says that i will have to reorder. is my dealership full of BS?

Saw someone on another forum that was serialized today for the week of 7/25. Sounds like you may have one more shot at an 05 since they are building up through the first week of August.

Been seeing different answers on the 06 rollover question. Some dealers are saying that they will handle the rollover and some are saying that you have to reorder. This is 2nd hand info based on what I've seen on this forum. I sounds like your dealer has allotment problems. Try to find out where you stand on their order list and how quickly they are making it through the backlog.

Good Luck!
