I have it on TiVo. I may be able to rip it tomorrow and post it. Pretty short video, nothing new (sounds like it was recorded quite a while ago), but nice to see & hear the GT driving, even if only in a parking lot.

you just beat me to it! dang central time zone!!! i just watched it and i don't know how accurate the time was but i caught at the end of the segment that the reporter that got to drive was told by FORD that the GT will do 0 to 60 in 5 1/2 seconds...not sure if this information has been confirmed yet just didn't want to have heard this and tell...i just wish i would have had my tv recording it!!!

Was it doing circles? Wonder where it was recorded.

I'd appreciate the rip if possible. Thanks!

:notnice: 5.5 sec :notnice: They can keep it if its that slow.

I doubt that correct though. I can't understand why Ford is feeding all this bad info to the press.

Nah, it's faster than that. What does the current car run? 5.6?

well even if it is "that slow" i'd still love to have it...its alot faster than my BLAZER i'm driving around in now...and not that i'm a car expert but i can't think of many cars that go that fast for under $25,000 and still be stock...but i hope you are right ...i hope it IS faster!!

EDIT: maybe the reporter got the time from the current 04 MY and just said Ford told him that because he got it from a ford rep or from the website or something.

I don't put any stock in the numbers -- the only thing that I will believe is when I go down to the track in person and watch one run. Then I will have some basis for comparison.

Not sure how well a performance review well get, but I'm sure they say something about the Shaker 500 and the lack of a Sony Playstation

Still would love to see the clip though!

Keep in mind that Ford's "official times" are going to be slow. They are conservatively rated. All car companies do that so they don't get lawsuits shoved up their butts for false advertisement. Wait till a mag gets her. I bet they shave off .3 seconds or so.

.2 seconds is like the blink of eye for us. I mean why complain so much?

I believe the current GT makes somewhere in the 6's.

Then again we have to consider. The weight of the driver. Possible passenger as well.

Good point... when they do those tests, do they mathematically "get rid" of the driver's weight so those 0-60mph times are with zero weight? Is there an industry average, say 150lbs or something? ^_^
