Forget the Camaro, another competitor ahead

Yep yep, very cool...to have it back..although the 4 door thing..meh..
Hemi engines will be good for it, and no doubt there will be an SRT-8 with the bigger 6.1 (or whatever) 425hp hemi that they are throwing in the 300 SRT8.
The other rumour was the 2 door type vehicle off that platform.
Challanger or Cuda or whatever....
THAT will be more of a competitor...but maybe to the GTO/Cobra, depending on what they sell it for....if it makes it to market at ALL

Even if Dodge puts out the Charger in 06/07. I still don't think it would affect much of the mustang sales. They way I see it, it looks as if the only people that are actually going to buy this thing would be the die-hard Mopar enthusiasts. Besides, it doesn't really seem to be a direct competition to the mustang (muscle car vs. pony car?). Plus, that thing is ugly as heck, so I don't really see it as an appealing car. If Dodge were to come out with the Charger concept from 99, then yeah that would definitely be worth it (since it is a great looking car).

Just like GM's GTO....they bring back the name but the car doesn't even have a hint of the original 60's muscle car....
The only good thing (IMO) about this new "Charger" is the 340 hp HEMI ingine. What a waste! :notnice:
Ford will dominate with the Mustang. Good looks, performance, a great all aroung Muscle Car........

It's interesting. If Charger is as everyone says, a Magnum-like four door, then that's not going to be competition, per se.
However, NASCAR still doesn't know what the '05 Dodge cars are going to be called. Interesting point number one.
Also, apparently NHRA doesn't allow four doors in the funny car class. You can actually Google that. AND they dont' know what the '05 Dodge car's gonna be called either. Interesting points number two and three.
Did you know that a sedan can be a two OR a four door, while a coupe is only a two door? Interesting, but slightly unrelated, point number 4.
So. I have come to the conclusion that everyone is wrong. The thing that's called Charger is NOT what is going to be used at the tracks, and there is a two door (something) coming soon. I think DCX has us chasing wild geese!
(some of the above is from Allpar, some from Chargerforums, some from Googling. So take that for what it's worth.)

If you look closely, you notice that concept has four doors as well.
