I bought my car through the Military Car Sales program and paid it off last month. This morning when I get to work, I've got an email from the dealer stating, "Guess what? You paid too much. Ford will need an address to send you a check for $759.28

SO - that means that I paid a total of - $24,923 for my 2005 GT - almost fully loaded. Not a bad price at all. Just 39 days til I get it!

How about that honesty! A couple more cool points for Ford. They could have kept that and I'd have never been the wiser. Now I get some unexpected money for Christmas.

 

That would be cool. So are you going to buy an aftermarket goodie for your Christmas stocking??

I bought mine through Miltiary Sales also. I just sent my payoff check on Monday. I have asked several times if I am going to get a refund because I have noticed that the base price and uplift is under invoice they charged me well over MSRP for a couple options. Is that what you got a refund for? I believe they overcharged me at least $400 for the IUP alone.

Good luck with yours, mine was delivered already, but I am still in Iraq.

I searched out the prices. They overcharged me on several things which added up to the $759.

Overcharged on upgraded wheels, IUP, Leather Seats and Anti-Theft system.

I had to buy mine thru the people in Iceland as there isn't an office here in Greenland. It hasn't been delivered to the dealer yet, but is supposedly on the way. The dealership is tinting the windows for me in advance of my arrival - darkest legal tint allowed for $110.

I'd imagine once the system shows what you paid in total, they'll contact you. My payoff check cleared almost a month ago.

Good luck getting some cash back - be safe over there. I'll be back there (Iraq) in August/September.

 

AND - I just found out that mine was delivered to the dealer on Saturday! The rep is going to take a pic and send it to me. It has been cleaned up, parked and locked in the back lot.

I ordered my mustang through military car sales and I noticed that same discrepancy a couple weeks ago. I contacted my salesman and emailed him the correct pricelist so that might be why they caught the mistake this soon. I will check with my salesman tomorrow to make sure they have made the changes to mine.

 

Thanks to this group, I knew about the price decrease compared to the "estimated uplift" so when they revised the prices, it was something I expected.

Too bad Military Car Sales doesn't have more pull with the factory to get those early cars released faster.

 

Deathdealer - are you having it delivered to Germany? I bet it'd be fun to take it on the Autobahn.

AFCOP, glad yours got delivered. They havent gotten my payoff yet, so hopefully I will get some back, I think mine came out to about $600 or so that they overcharged me. Thanks for this post, I was at the point I was just going to stink it up, not now though.

Woody, I didnt know we were eligible for the Xplan. I have read about it on here a lot, but still do not have a clear idea what it is. Can you fill me in?
