I think it depends on whether or not the dealer wants to give it to you, since they don't really HAVE to in the beginning (or ever, I think). I'm an X-plan buyer, and my dealer has guaranteed to me that they would give me X-plan pricing.

If the dealer wants to honor A-Plan, they will give it to you. I doubt there will be a problem, especially after the first batches are done.

One thing though, the car will have to be under your father's name, as far as I know.

The dealer I go to told me they will definetely honor A and X (and Z-retiree) plans. They told me it would hurt their business if they didn't. If you qualify for one of the plans, hold your ground and search around until you find a dealer that takes the plans. Don't let the emotional wanting of the car take over your better judgement. There are alot of dealers out there. You'll get A plan.

Immediate Family members qualify for A Plan. It does not have to be in the employees name either, but rather in an "eligible family member"'s name.

Most dealers do not turn down A plans unless its on something like a Mystichrome cobra. If someone wants to turn down an A plan on a low proffit margin vehicle like a mustang, then screw em.

Oh, kick them in the ding ding, and then find another dealer.

You qualify for A plan if your Dad is a Ford employee. Ford dealers do not ever have to honor A/X/Z discounts, but most do, as it keeps them in Ford's good graces. Ford has a way of finding out if a dealer is constantly denying discounts, and since they supply the cars, you can see how they have leverage.

In any case, you should be able to pre-order without prices using A plan; I know because I did. Price is really irrelevant, since A plan by definition is just a percentage off invoice, so you can order w/ A and when prices appear in the order system, you'll get the A-plan price.

Good luck...

What is the difference between the A-Plan and the X-Plan. Oddly enough I qualify for both but have not been told the difference.

Who verifies A/X/D/Z plan eligibility? Is it just the salesman/sales manager? Does the dealership need to send info into Ford? How does the verification work?

We can verify them, and generate them most of the time. Even x-plan pins can be generated with proof of employment, we then just look up the partner code.

A PIN number has to be generated through Vehicle Programs in Dearborn. X plan I would imagine has to be verified with due dilligence by the dealer if generated through Partner Recognition program (ie, you work for a company eligible for X plan). If an X plan pin is generated by a Ford Employee, ANYONE can qualify. If an A (Employee)/D (Dealer)/Z (Retiree) plan Pin is generated, no proof of eligibility is required at the time of sale that I am AWARE of (none of my family members have ever had to provide proof of relationship), but IF Ford audits that PIN, the employee/dealer employee/retiree must provide proof of relationship by legal records (birth certificates, marriage licenses, etc). The employee can be reprimanded up to and including termination for abuse of A/D/Z plan PINS.

Dealers are re-imbursed up to MSRP (as I understand it it's MSRP, but I could be wrong) for A/D/Z/X plan purchases, therefore, if they do not have a PIN number registered to the name of the purchaser, then the dealer is not reimbursed. So, no, I doubt a dealer would give A/D/Z/X plan prices to someone in off the street.

Reimbursed up to 2% over invoice for plan sales(roughly). Without a pin, you have no plan.

alright, quick question since there seems to be some people in the know on these ford discount plans... Anyone know if I'd be eligible for any of them since my dad works for U.S. Steel? they provide a lot of the metal that goes into making the cars, but my dad never buys new vehicles just the business ones he drives at a huge discount after they surpass xxxxx amount of mileage
