10772 Mustangs sold in Feb 07 as compared to:
Feb 06: 13367
Feb 05: 14050
During the last 4 months Ford has sold this many mustangs:
Nov 10230
Dec 11245
Jan 9064
Feb 10772
Tot 41,311
This is the lowest 4 month total mustang sales since Aug - Nov 2004 (36,644).
Based on the link, I would think that this dip is partially due to Ford's decision to cut back on sales to rental companies.

Hold on, if this is correct, do we know if this is "sell-in" or "sell through"? I only ask because Shelby has orders for about 4500 cars with 6000 SGTs to be built. If this is sell-in then, Houston We Have A Problem!
I would assume that Shelby GTs are only counted as sold when a customer buys one, but I don't know for sure.
If anyone is interested, here is the spreadsheet I update to track Mustang sales.

Don't go getting your panties in a wad guys - the weather has played no small part in this?
What's all that white stuff that is covering the North this year that really wasn't around the past year or two to let Al Gore get some traction on his global warming.... at least until someone did some homework on his fuel consumption !!
Anyway, if our sales are any indication, Ford is about to have a very good Spring with the Mustang - people will come out once they aren't worried that they will freeze to death in the arms of a car salesman!

The lower rental sales excuse doesn't fly.
Ford already cut back rental sales when the 2005 Mustang was introduced. Rentals have been a very small % of S-197 Mustang sales all along.
Also, don't use the weather as an excuse, November, December & early January were very mild across most of the country. In the northern states Mustang sales are always low in Jan & Feb. regardless of the weather.
GTH395 has it right "Time for a refresh"
What is happening is the 3rd year sales slide. The Mustang has had the same sales pattern in the past. 2nd year is usually has the best sales.

No offense peops but we didnt just invent snow this year. It has actually been around a long time. I laugh nowadays when I hear the complaining and stuff about the snow. And the weather clowns talk abiout this HUGE storm we are getting and then say 6 inches. In 2 months it will be the rain, and then the tornado's and then the hurricane. Weather happens, get over it.

I don't care what is causing it, just so long as it doesn't get bad enough for Ford to cancel the Mustang. I just hope that Ford sets Mustang production and their expectations lower for the next body style, considering the competition that will be out.
A lot of people bought the '05 because it was hot and fresh. Many waited and bought the '06 so they didn't have to pay a ADM and even got some sort of discount. I think it's only natural the initial hype wore off a little by the '07 model. A Mustang isn't the most practical car for a lot of people either.
I dont remember ever hereing about cities getting 30-100 inches of snow last year in the northeastern states. And their was definatly more snow here in Illinois then last winter.

!! (of course the wife will tell you I could miss a meal or two and be alright...)
