Ford Makes a Profit

Not sure if this was posted somewhere else before, if so, forgive me, but I thought this was an interesting article. Ford turned up quite a profit this year.

I read the article and to say they turned quite a profilt is misleading. The overseas unit is what turned the profit, the biggest of which was the premier auto group which WILL be sold off this year. Also read where the gains were also aided by more favorable exchange rates.

North America still lost money and sales are down from a year ago.

In other words.... much to do about nothing.

I heard that Toyota is going to buy Ford.
Is it good for next generation mustangs, or not?
What you think?

GM also posted close to 900 million profit this quarter. Good news for the US automakers.

Ford, GM, and Chrysler made sh!tty cars for so long that it very well could happen one day. They can't keep losing money and a lot of people, a lot, don't feel a reason to stop driving Camrys and Accords in favor of a Ford or Chevy - and I can't really say that I blame them based on resale value and overall quality.

The (former) 'big 3' has begun making better quality vehicles that obviously have better fit and finish on them compared to the vehicles they shoved in our faces in the 80s-90s, but only in the past 3 or 4 years; It could be too little, too late.

I agree totally. It just makes me so mad that people just automatically count out American cars now, even though the quality has improved so much in the past few years. People can be so ignorant and they automatically assume because a car is American, it sucks.
