I took my Explore in for service last week and went up front to the sales area. It was dead, no customers. Salesman said the only thing hot was You guessed it. Mustang GTs and Escape hybrid and they had none. Prices on all the others just keep going down. There were some 04s and SVTs that were marked way down but still too much for the going rate. One dealer in this area still had a few 03 Escapes. They still believe their stuff is gold and yours is dirt. I never do trade ins any more for that reason.

Yeah. I used to sell for a Ford dealer. When you're trying to make a deal, the sales manager would make life difficult when you're taking in a trade. That trade's a POS, dime a dozen... you get the idea. But you close the deal anyway, and 2 weeks later you're trying to sell that car you took in on trade. Now... it's a nice piece, worth $4k more than it was 2 weeks ago. That dealership is now out of business. Hopefully Ford will start paying attention to the way the dealers treat their customers, otherwise, we'll all be driving Honda's. :notnice:

I went into my dealer today and it was freaken busy. Everybody was ordering new Mustangs. A $55k F350 pickup was sold too.

I didn't even want to deal with a trade. I have a honda and I'll sell it myself. I'll make $3k more minimum at least if I do. I should be able to sell that car in less than 2 weeks. The 2001 Accords sell quick around here.
