At my dealer, no one knows or really cares that much about the 2005. I guess it's like any business -- you just get bored a bit of the product you sell.

Since all of us are really excited, it seems dealerships would get as much info as they could, but you would be wrong... instead, they kind of care less until you whip out that checkbook and give em' $500 for an 05' deposit. I know, I know -- "That's business!" BUT! Can't they make it more enjoyable?

Everyone knows Im nuts for it, but at the dealer, why care if its not here on the lot to sell?
I wish ford and the dealers would show as much excitment that we have!! You would think they would show something and be greatful that we are contributing to their paychecks. Are they humble or cocky, knowing they have such a great car to offer [/b][/quote]
Just kick them in the ding ding

Now you see, that comment right there is a perfect example of why we love Kev so much over here: his advice is so wise and valuable...we should all learn from him I say.

I just checked ebay. They don't have the official brochure, just the dealer preview guide and the Canadian info card.

My dealer didn't have a clue when I first approached him about ordering the 05'. At first, he emailed me an order form for the GT. I called him and asked him if he was going to give me the GT for the price of a mustang GT. He proceeded to email me the correct form. I did manage to get an 05 mustang poster. It's pretty cool, I suppose. He doesn't know much about the 05 either. I've had to persistantly push him to dig for info. He finally caught on and has actually been calling his "Ford plant rep" to chase down info. I really appreciated his efforts, but most of the info he gave me was about 2 weeks behind info on this site. He simply stated that it's hard to get excited about a new car that is not even in production yet, especially when you have 30-40 mustangs on the lot, as well as SE's.

Hmmm.....I was thinking these Ford folks have to go back to school and take marketing 101 and learn thinkgs about product, promotion, pricing, location, customer needs etc. Gee this makes common sense, what was I thinking.....slapping myself now!

well- my husband used to be a car salesman- and he would memorize everything about mazdas (thats what he sold) it would make sense that a good salesman would know everything about what he sold- key word"sell" you have to sell the cuztomer a car- if you dont know about all the cool features like the partial window roll down thingie- how can you expect to wow the customers and sell them the vehicle?? thats half the sale right there is convincing the customer they need the car- if you dont know anything about it- you cant convince them they want it.... true- we pretty much have sold ourselves on the mustang-and dont need a salesman in our situations but its nice to go to a dealership and talk about the mustangs with the dealer and not feel as if you're "teaching" the dealer about the car- then its more like you are selling HIM the vehicle- not vice versa.... the more cars they sell- the more money they make- duh- so common sense to me would be- if i were a salesman- to know everything i could about them so i could do what i do best- sell the vehicle... but thats just my opinion...
