Forbes Writer Rips '05 Mustang
Well, judging by the reaction here, he got exactly what he was looking for.....writing an obviously "flaming" article and getting people to read it and react to it.
That's what he's paid to do.
On the other hand, thanks for putting his picture up. I think I saw him hanging around the men's bathroom at the local Greyhound station.

Million dollar clients like to see professionals in an American muscle car! I recently showed a 1,000,000.00+ house to clients. In the garage were 3 Stangs. 2 stacked 2004's and a Crimson RED 2005. wrong call Dan

I'm a Mustang owner, but not a biased one. As such, I sympathize with alot of what the author is saying. I love the exterior, and it was mostly the reason I bought it. I came to the Mustang after seven years of driving a '98 Monte Carlo, so I think that spoiled me a bit.
...(and I did seriously look at Mini-Coopers) and for one reason or another I disqualified everything until only the Mustang was left.

The Mini's are VERY fun. It was close choice between a fully loaded Cooper-S and my GT....it was VERY close! The Mini Cooper-S I drove was fast, fun, and cute. Notice "sexy" never was mentioned. The first words you hear about the mustang are usually "wow..that thing looks sexy.." The final deciding factor was when the local news showed a Mini that had been literally run over by a Semi on I-85...<gulp!>.....and the wife saw it. Three 20 year olds were crushed under and beside it. That ended the Mini at the house.

I wasn't bashing Nav systems, just saying they shouldn't be expected on a simple american muscle car. I'm surprised he didn't complain about the lack of a rear seat DVD system...
I went from a SVT Lightning to an 04 MDX to my Mustang GT. The MDX was one of the best cars i have ever owned (and i have had many). But it was just to mundane. The Mustang is twice as much fun as the Lightning was, plus i think its a tad faster.

I NEED that. I get lost if someone turns the light off in the closet.

He is just some punk who probably loves his prissy acura, hates american cars, and especially hates ford. What he fails to understand is that car companies like ford support his sorry hiney and that of our country. As for class when i'm driving a mustang. Do i care? Not one bit, a mustang is just as "upscale" as any lame acura or lexus road boat. What does he expect the mustang owners do, all get Ford 500's to drive around in so we can look "classy"

Did he mention something about a lack of DVD or DVD-NAV or NAV option from Ford? If he did I agree with him, even Honda offers a NAV system on the Accord coupe...and it's around the same price or less. Offer it, if it doesn't sell well, don't offer it next year. Those who can buy it...will buy it.

Here is the reply that I sent to Forbes:
As an aspiring elitist, you obviously don’t “get†the new Mustang. Ironically, I think Malcolm Forbes would have…
Name address etc...

Think though, you can't show up at a formal affair on a motorcycle, that wouldn't be right. Though I'd guess M Forbes probably did that more than once.

What an arrogant *****. I am a 42 year old professional that reads Forbes ocassionally (they have to send it to me free) and I need something to read in the john.
He must own GM stock. It took the 05 Mustang GT to break me out of the BMW/SUV cycle of boring run of the mill vehicles. The Mustang blows these away in the fun category and the quality amd finish amazes me every day I drive it.
I was not one of those "mustang club members" that Ford catered to yet I knew I had to have a GT when I first saw it. And just for the record, I think Windveil Blue with charcoal leather looks just as refined as any BMW.

Bwah-ah-ah-ah. All this time I thought people were looking & pointing at my car because of how nice it looks. They were really thinking "Look at that undignified dork."
