Fog light indicator??

Anyone know why there is no indicator light on the dash for the fog lights? Is it for the same reason there is no under hood light, no interior trunk release and no glove-box light? THat is, to save a buck.

there is one for the fogs when you pull the light switch out to turn on the fogs a small light turns on to indicate your fogs are on.

It is a small green one right next to the headlight switch.

If you are looking down at it, it doesn't show up very well. Get a eye level and you can really see it glow. Shows up better at night than in the daytime.

Well at least if you are getting oral sex while you drive it is good to know the person giving it will be able to tell if your fog lights are on or not

She wouldn't be facing the right direction to check on the status of the foglight indicator.

Guys, you are viewing it all wrong.... not a shortcut or a dollar saved.... its a weight savings in an already portly stallion....

As for an in car trunk release... I hit my button before removing the key from the ignition.

I agree. My pony may be fairly spartan on the interior, but it has got everything I need and would want. less interior lighting means less weight and faster times at the track

Ford has been a little bit cheesy with the bells and whistles on the S197. My '96 had as stock, an underhood lamp, courtesy lamps, trunk release button, glove box light and a strut tower brace. But, that was then, this is now.

Although, I know that multifunction headlight switches cost a bundle. I updated the family car ('03 Lincoln Town Car) with fog lamps. The factory switch with the foglight position cost a little over a hundred bucks. Just for the switch. So, if Ford doesn't put in the bells and whistles, we get a cheaper sticker price. Maybe that's what a lot of folks want. I would have been happy to pay a few bucks more to get some of that stuff.

In the case of a 'Vert, I'm actually glad I don't have an inside trunk release for the times the car may be parked outside for a short while with the top down.

Your edited quote would apply for the female drivers.

That's ok, I'll have to look for it some other way.

That also means the positioning of the indicator light was probably designed by the same person who though it was a good idea to put the rear window defogger switch and indicator where it can only be seen when driving in second, fourth and reverse gears for those of us with manual transmissions...

Steevr, I have a 'vert and my '96 was a 'vert as well. The '96 had the trunk release in the glove box, which you can lock. I intend to wire in a trunk release in my '05 also in the glove box. It's not a big thing, but its darned convenient when you need it.

I've never ridden in a car that has a foglight indicator anywhere except right next to the button that turns the fogs on and off. And some of the cars didn't even have them there. (i.e. imports with the headlight on the left steering wheel stalk)

Jeep puts them in the instrument cluster near the high beam indicator...
