The driver was also probably distracted during the test drive. I know I was a little bit overwhelmed....just so much cool stuff to try out while you are there. I was extra careful though and wasn't able to get much speed on the dealership's test drive route anyway.
I would think that after that incident that that dealer she got the car from might want to rethink their preferred test drive route.

I won't buy a car without driving it... that's why I don't buy cars on ebay. My brother-in-law bought a truck once. Didn't drive it. Got it home, put it in reverse, and the transmission was bad...
But accidents happen...

I have NEVER ran into an intersection without any signs (STOP or YIELD) that cars would be traveling at a rate of speed high enough to total both cars.
Where I grew up, there are numerous side streets that have no signage whatsoever (Speed Limit is like 20 MPH though), and the rule has ALWAYS been to Yield to the car on the right.
I pay attention at any intersection just because you never really know what the other person is going to do. I would rather slow down and risk looking stupid, than to enter the intersection and get plowed.

Alright I'm going to add a little fuel to the fire....the yeild law would only apply to an intersection with 4 signs or no signs. Their are many intersection that have only two signs -Usually with another sign that says "cross traffic does not stop". If you have no sign and the cross traffic does....their is no reason why would ever stop...well unless you feel like getting rear ended...This should have been a no-fault accident.
