Depends on your credit rating.

Sorry man... that's total
I qualified with Ford Credit on what they call Level 1, which means you have a credit score of 720 or higher. My rate for a 72 month loan was over 9% so 8% for a 60 month loan will be about right. My bank is giving me a rate of 6.24%.
I have always bought my vehicles through Ford credit, but not this time. Even my dealer rolled his eyes and told me it was a waste of time to use Ford Credit.
You can get lower if you put down a big sum and hit one of the deals, but regular financing through Ford Credit is a joke. Quite a difference from when I bought my 97 and Ford Credit beat the bank rate.

I agree with you Tony, I don't know where this mis-information is coming from or how it keeps getting perpetuated.

For the last time the Mustang GT is FAR more profitable than a V6 Mustang.

I don't get that either…. Everything I have ever read says that the GT is more profitable.

April 06 Mustang sales were 15,858 down 19% from the 19,559 Stangs sold in April 05 and only a few hundred more than the 15,538 of the old SN95 Mustangs sold in April 04.

April 06 sales were essentually flat from March 06 ( 16,117 sold ). Historically March through May are the highest sales months for Mustangs, so sales in these months are really important.

After the initial surge in sales for the 05 Stang, it looks like the 06 Mustang is settling in to about the same sales rate that the old SN-95 had in its later years (quite a bit lower than sales of the SN95 when it first came out).

Hopefully all dealers have finally given up trying to get AMVs on regular Mustangs (V6 & GT). I wouldn't be surprised to see rebates on leftover 06 GTs once the 07s hit dealer lots in July - August.

Lets also remember there wasn't as many high performance Sedans out on the market back then as there is today...

There is not a problem with Mustang GT (performance model) sales. Until recently GTs have been in short supply. Don't forget the Mustang's head to head competitors - Camaro / Firebird are gone.

The problem with Mustang sales is the V6. Although the S197 V6 is greatly improved over the SN95 V6, the S197 V6 Mustang has not done well with typical non gear head customers. Those customers are moving to imports which offer more amenties and better gas mileage.

At the current rate, looks like about 147,000 mustangs will be sold in calender year 2006, vs 160,975 in 2005.

I had the same situation. I was polite, but laughed to myself. My Credit Union BLEW Ford Credit AWAY.
My Ranger is Ford Credit because of incentives, not my GT.

Credit unions are usually always lower. My loan for the new stang is 2.9% but it's not binding. Hopefully my car will come in before there are any rate increases.

The dealer i got my stang from, i paid MSRP (i know the owner). Has 50 stangs on the lot, about 1/2 are GTs, they are still charging 3,000 over MSRP for GTs. With the 07s coming out, i don't know how they are going to move them.

There are no high allocation dealers in the Hartford CT area, and limited GT and V6 selections here. Some of the cars depending on options have $800-$3,000 ADM's.
