First Road Trip
First Road Trip
After having the car for a year now and having 3,000 miles on the odo, I finally had the opportunity to take the Pony on a 400 mile round tripper yesterday.
The weather sunny and in the upper 70's. All open interstate driving with the top down. I got an avg of 25 mpg with the cruise locked at 75 (speed limt is 65). Not bad considering it's not the most aerodynamic when the top is down. I bought the Ford Bra the day before and it saved the front end from all the southern Illinois bugs getting splattered all over the paint. The windshield and headlight are a different story....what a bug mess.
Funniest thing on the trip down...my Valentine One goes off, so I slow it to 65. Up ahead I see a police car on the right side with it's cherries on. As I get closer, I notice there are 2 police cars. As I pass them, I see that they have BOTH an Evo and a WRX pulled over. You had to see the looks on the young driver's faces. I couldn't help but chuckle.

I was pretty happy with the fit and finish of the geniune Ford bra. A little tricky to get the clips on the front wheelwell, but now that I know how it works, it should be easier next time.
