I'm already making plans to cruise Skyline Drive in the Shenandoah Mountains in Virginia:

Where will you take your '06 Mustang, and for the '05 owners, where did you take your Mustang for its first 'serious' road trip? B)

My first road trip will be HOME! Purchased my GT on 8/4 from Maroone Ford of Margate in Florida. I'm picking her up 8/10 and will be driving home 8/13 to Brooklyn, NY... http://forums.bradbarnett.net/index.php?showtopic=30917

My first road trip was from Nanuet, NY to Montreal, QU Canada. I went the long way because i had to pick up a friend in NH first so i took it through ny to ct, ct to mass, mass to nh and nh to vt and vt to montreal. I averaged 28mpg the whole way gonig about 70-75mph with little burts of speed on the long straightaways.

We leave on sunday morning. We are doing the Blue Ridge Mountains this time. We have made plans to go to Ashville to see The Biltmore House. Ashville is the town where they filmed The Andy Griffin Show. Homes are beutiful from the 1800's . Then we are going to see the Cherokee Indians and then on wednesday we are going to my family home of Lewisetta Virginia. A little island at the mouth of the Potmac river. So we will have done mountains and sea side.

Thanks, this is the second road trip we will have taken first with the 05. Our first trip was from Pennsylvania to Florida. We went in February. There was snow on the ground when we left and our pony house door was frozen to the floor. When we got to SC the weather was pleasent 70 degree. We stopped and stayed in B & B. was great. We went to Savahana Georgia and stayed in a haunted B & B. It was great. Then on to the Ford show in Florida for a week. Great trip. We are looking forward to this trip.

Here's a shot of my car at an overlook on Skyline Drive. It was hazy as all get out, but still a great ride.

I haven't taken any long road trips, maybe 300 miles or so in a day. She's great in the twisties!

Very hazy, smoggy. Car looks great. I can't wait for tommorrow. Steve is out cleaning her up now for the trip. Last week we traveled in rain and the baby got a bit dusty. Then she went back to the dealer to have seat belt fixed. Finger prints all over. She will be clean all clean, inside and out.

I'll be doing the opposite of MAS35NYR...I'll be driving from Victor, NY to Hallandale Beach, FL with a stop at my parent's house in New Bern, NC. Should be a fun trip, especially in January!
