All I know is, Ford has completely controlled information on the Mustang from day one, like none other I have seen before. Even the original "illegal"(and conveniently wall-eye distorted) photos of the white car I am sure were leaked on purpose. Not to mention how silently the 500 and Freestyle were developed. heck, there isnt a single photo ever of the Fusion/Furtura/400(whatever they call it) and that is due out in less then a year.

Not to mention the entire new Lincoln line up. The Zephyr and Continental have yet to be seen.....and they're due in less than year. Along with a redone Mark LT and the possible Aviator and Mark IX/X production models.

2005 Mustangs are already in the hands of the automotive press. In order to participate they had to agree not to publish anything about driving the 05 Stang until Ford's OK date. It will be either Sept or Oct issues of the rags.

So true...
when you break the rules (like the guy at the tier-1 who leaked pictures of the car) you lose your job.
I think the car mags will feature the Mustangs in October, perfect timing for when it hits the lots.

Ford is so amazing - they have managed to control the release of this car so well. Think about it .. they must have 100's of test mules out there, and we have not heard from a single mule driver. Those folks, and lots of others in the know must be under some strict orders not to leak information to the public (like us). I am most interested to find out how they managed this. I bet there will be some good stories to tell after the car goes "public".

I can't wait to hear the mags report back about test drives in the new stang come the fall.

I'll take my guess and say the first magazine WILL be Motor Trend...

2005 FORD Mustang
MOTOR TREND'S: CAR OF THE YEAR

then all the rest, which won't dare argue w/ MT's raving review (if you don't believe...just think back to which mag wowed the public with concept pix)

Can you elaborate on the Tier-1 story. I've never heard this one.

Last September, a camoflaged 2005 was at a tier-1 supplier, one guy stripped of the camo when no one was around, took some pictures and posted them on the internet. He was apparently fired and Ford went all over the place to take the pics down
