It was cold as ever yesterday morning.. This summer has been weird here, so don't think Michigan is always like that haha

They were allowing people to walk along the track? AWESOME. Nope.. I don't think I saw you. I did run into a few guys from the local sites. One of them yelled at me when I was getting inside the yellow GT.

Did you see that Detroit Police Jaguar that came into the track to get it's photo taken by the fountain? AWESOME!! I wanted to ride in that.. just not in the backseat.

Belle Isle used to be a prime spot for automakers to take pics of their cars. Nice setting.

How'd you like Detroit? Did you go anywhere else?

No one was allowed on the track. 0:-) I was there early talked to the co-drivers. They were going for a test drive around the course, so I ask to tag along. 4 drivers.... 4 mustangs and LOTS of speed... we did 2 laps. Took the cones at 40MPH twice. It held the line like a glove! power slides through the corners.

Since I was the first to drive when they started, I had lots of time to meet everyone and they knew who I was, so they didn't say anything. B) I just stayed out of everyone way and took pics and video.

On a sad note: On my first drive the seaguls where being stupid. As I was heading toward the fountain, the stupid bird was in the middle of the road. My problem was do I let off the Gas or not? I chose NO, the bird went right so I went left..... but he decided to fly left.... Sorry bird lovers! But speed Kills. This was in the yellow one.

Oh also... when I got to the Accelerate sign.... stop paused thought to myself..... checked the traction lock.....Off good.... reved it up to 3500 and droped the clutch.... OH yah.... The back end drops and the tires light up!!! Hit second with a nice bark and hit the red line just before hitting the brakes to take the firs turn....
hit third and ease into the left hander about half way through punch it again... i would of loved to see the look on my co-driver.

I eased out of the gas knowing the cones where coming around the next corner... i came out of the corner doing 40ish.... let it cruise to the first cone the power through at 37ish.... Oh how I love this car.. at the last cone hit the gas to do high speed cone section. Quick responsive .... powered through the last corner and into the bird event.... took it slow around the fountain... I think the co-driver was saying to herself..." Oh My! I hope it won't be like this allday"

AWESOME!! So glad you got to do that. Ok.. I think I remember you now then. If you were the first one to go (I thought the silver one was first.. oh well) then I remember you peeling out of the "staging" area and I yelled really loud (along with some other people) because we knew it WAS ON!!! YES!!

Heard about the sea gulls, 3 of them got it. I had to slow waaaaaaaaaay down so I wouldn't tag one. They put an end to that side of the track later on in the day.

 

Thats me in the first picture of this thread. I love Detroit... when I lived in Cincinnati we would come up to a Wings game every year... Also went to a Weezer concert on the same night. Won some $$ at the casino. It was a great trip. OH Yah that was a birthday trip also.....

I haven't even watched all the video I shot :bang: :bang: but I know I have at least 2 that show the smoke coming off the tires.....

I did drive the black one also later in the day.... 2 drives for me!!
