Lucky for me I have a line of credit with an interest rate of 3.75% and I only have to make a $300.00/mth payment. I saved up a bit and will put $20,000 down so I only have to finance about 1/2 the car.

40K for what car???

Canadian pricing. Look at my signature. By the time I get my GT with the options I want and tax it is almost $40,000.00 CANADIAN.....

Ouch
dont sya ouch i mean a mustang prolly costs 400 trillion lira or something lol

ur US dollar is worth more than a canadian dollar [/b][/quote]

What about PESOS????

See if you have any local credit unions you can use. I have found them to be much cheaper than banks. I found one by me that will give me 4.2% fixed for 60 months on my 2005 (when I eventually pick it up).

I hate to sound like the old man, but sometimes, buying something like that, being so extended, can really hurt you long term. You will end up financing close to 50k by the time you are done. My advice, because I have been in your situation a long time ago, wait, get one used or wait until you can have a significant down payment. Bad credit can hurt for a long time.

No matter what rate the dealer gives you he is going to get a min. of 1% Man it is time for you to face the facts. If your credit score is that low you can't afford a new Mustang. Buy something with a zero rate.

I would be more interested in getting my credit in line, than a new car. 18%, or even 10-12%, no way!

A couple other people have hinted at this but hear it goes. I have not done the math but if you are only putting down $2000 on a mustang Gt you are looking at payments of at least $500 a month with that huge %rate(just guesses). Why don't you pretend like you have the Stang and keep putting $500/month into your savings account for 6 months to a year. In the mean time work on getting your credit score better. Then you kill two birds with one stone. Go back to the dealer after that time frame and you will have a good(relatively) down payment(which should help interest rate) and abetter credit score(also help interest rate) On top of that you would probably get a better deal on the car then since it will have been out for a while. HEY, thats three birds with one stone. Also don't forget to find out how much ins. will be for yourself$$$.

WOW!!! You should borrow money at 3.75% and re-loan it at prime which happens to be around 4.75% right now...

Better yet, loan bluesman05 the money at above prime and everyones happy.

You're closer to $38,300.00 AT 300 OVER INVOICE WITH TAX. aT CURRENT EXCHANGE RATES ITS CHEAPER TO BUY IN cANADA THAN u.S.! dO i HAVE CAPS LOCK ON? I too am putting a significant amount of the car on a low interest line of credit 3.5%. If you have one, use it.

just wonderign what exactly effects your credit score? I'm 25 and have 2 credit cards. Both have balances but all payments have always been on time, no late fees, ect. This will be my first loan of any sort. Would there be anythign to significant;y hurt my score? Any info would be appreciated.
