Finally some pics of the new ride!
Hey guys, wanted to share some pics of my first "brand new" car. Picked it up on August 12th after my dealer searched for a few weeks to find me a leftover '06 GT 5-spd without black interior and a color I liked. I went the '06 route to take advantage of the $1500 rebate on top of my X-plan (Thanks hiznherponies!), too bad now they have 0% for 72 months, oh well.
I need to get this thing protected ASAP. I plan to do a synthetic wax because I want it to last and avoid having to re-wax monthly. Also, the car will see some winter duty so it has to be tough. I was going to try Klasse, any other ideas? I figure I can put a coat of Carnuba on top of the Klasse stuff at any point if I want that look. What wax will protect the wheels?
As far as mods go, I plan to keep them to a minimum because this will be my daily driver replacing the '03 Maxima I sold in June. I plan to swap out the rear springs for a set of Roush's to level the tire/fender gaps. The spoiler has got to go as I love the spoilerless look. I'd rather not have the trunk painted to fill the holes in case I want to put the spoiler back on- who has pulled off a nice painted plug alternative? A tuner and an intake will follow and probably a shifter. I plan to keep the exhaust and gears stock. Unlike most people, I love the gray painted bullitts but some other 18"+ rims may be in order at some point.
The car needs to go in to be realigned as the steering wheel isn't perfectly centered when going straight. Also will have the passenger exhaust tips adjusted and throw in the first oil change (first one on the house). Other than that, I'm good to go.

Great looking car! Windveil Blue was my second option, but I stuck out my neck on the Perf. White and still happy with it (for now). As for your daily driver issue, I believe you're on the right track with CAI, Tune, Shifter and leaving the gearing alone. I drive mine all the time during the fair weather, but I have another winter vehicle. For commuting, I love my Hurst short throw, and with the CAI and tune, this car pretty much can do it all in 4th gear. I saw you have a Shaker, which will be nice for commuting. Right now the stock BFGoodrich KDWS tires are so innexpensive that if you intend on driving all weather and plenty of miles, you can't go wrong with stock wheels and tires.
Well, congrats on the NEW ride!

Don't put anything but Zaino on that paint.

Congrats on your new pony!
I tried out a product called RegEx for protecting the paint. I bought orginally to just protect the bumper from bugs. Once I saw how effective it was, I put it on the entire hood. I have a lot of trees, and I get drops of sap on my hood once and a while. I noticed it wipes right off of the hood where the RegEx is, and is a b*tch to get off the unprotected areas. You can bet that I'll be putting a coat over the entire car the next time she gets a bath!

Thanks for all the compliments, guys.
As far as Zaino goes, I've heard many people raving about it. But I have also heard that the application process can be quite time consuming with multiple coats, etc. Also, I've heard that the protection doesn't last as long as other synthetics. I'm looking for the more funtional protection than the flashy mirror shine. This car is my daily driver and will see winter, it's not going to be a show car.

I like Meguiar's NXT Liquid wax. Goes on really easily and so far it seems to be protecting really well. From what I've seen it has very good reviews by other users as well, and it gives a beautiful shine on top of that. Mine's a daily driver, too, and so far I'm very pleased.

Zaino is great. Application and buff off is REAL easy - you only do multiple coats if you want to.
You put it on one side of the car, by the time you are done, you can get down to work buffing out the first parts you did.
Its not just polish too - definitely helps protect the paint.....

I remember seeing a link a little while ago where someone did a comparison between 4 or 5 waxes/polishes including Klasse, Zaino, etc. He had a BMW M3, a Jetta, a few more cars, I think. Anyone see that?
