Well, I've only been lurking around here since last Feb., so now that I ordered, I guess it's time to post!

First I have to say, GREAT WEBSITE!! This is the best forum on the net! I don't know why I waited this long, guess I didn't feel I had much to add besides my $.02. I'll add my $15 in just a few minutes, that's worth MUCH more. The info I have gotten here has been invaluable though. It's nice to see a group of strangers actually get along, and be able to read topics that don't always turn into bashing contests.

I ordered 1/28: Sonic Blue Premium GT, Dark Charcoal, IUP, Side Airbags, Wheel locks, Active anti-theft, base wheels, and manual trans. For order details look here: 05' Pricing @ Dealerships, Lowest deals found, options, etc.....

The wait is already killing me! :bang: I think I will have to order a new part every week to keep me busy. Plus posting here may help . . . talking about it seems to make it worse, however.

I'll let you all know how the rest of the process goes, and when my car gets built. It's currently "clean and unscheduled."

Craig

P.S. I always proof-read, and try to catch all grammer mistakes, but spelling was always my worst subject.

Hey Boss, are those 255s on stock rims? If so, how do they fit the 17x8s?

Welcome to the waiting room, Craig! You can't be serious about the wait already killing you when you just ordered a little over a week ago, can you? B)

That said, we all know what you're going through. Last week my salesman got my hopes up saying that he had allocation for two Stangs coming up on Thursday, and mine is priority 10 and first in line, so if the commodities were there it was possible for mine to get pulled... and then Karpro posted the commodities report for the week showing 100% on IUP so I was sure mine would be pulled. Didn't happen though - none of my dealers' orders got pulled and instead he's getting two V6s. Now the salesman is saying my next chance to get pulled is the end of the month.

The only upside (for me) is that snow is melting everywhere around here, and it's impossible to keep a car clean with the wet, salty roads, so maybe it's a good thing that I'm not getting the car any time soon. Yeah, right... B)

They fit perfectly on the stock wheels. BFG rates the 255/50R17 for a 7.0 to 9.0 wheel.

Craig, know how you feel. Been lurking since October and since we finally ordered 1/26 thought I would make my first post also. Didn't think the wait would be this bad initially, but ..... Wrong! At least we have TMS to keep us going.

Love this site!

Congrats on your order. You never know - you might get it quicker than you think since the IUP issue is better than when folks who ordered in 04....but think its a little early to get too impatient. TMS will help not to mention a scotch or three. Hope you have a dealer who will keep you informed although there are others ways as I learned on this site

Thanks for the warm welcome everybody! It will be very interesting to see who gets their car first. Three people hundreds of miles apart, ordering within 3 days of each other . . . the race is on! Good luck to everybody else, and keep us up to date.

Like everybody else has said, I wish I could just go to AAI and pick it up. Heck, I'd be willing to pay the Destination and Delivery if it meant I got to see my car get built, or at least drive off the line.

Hmmmm, maybe I don't want to see it get built. I would probably cringe when I saw how they treated it. "I brought my tools, let me do it!"

Nice! You're post was flawless until the "P.S." it's grammar, no "e". I'm glad to see someone who takes some time and consideration before posting a thread. Hope your order is filled fast.

Hey Sonic, welcome! I am going to order nearly the same car as yours, except I need an automatic (wife refuses to learn a stick, and I'm not sure if I want her learning on mine.) And I am going to AAI to see it get built in June! I am the 60th person of 101 to sign up for the '05 Pony Drive mentioned in the stickies. I certainly hope you get yours first, since I haven't even ordered mine yet, but at least I won't have to go nuts worrying when it will get built. June 11th, and I'll be there to see it! That doesn't make it any easier to wait, but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel, so to speak.
What mods, if any, are you considering? I went back and forth over creating a Mach'd Mineral Grey or a Shelbyized Sonic Blue. The CDC Shaker hoodscoop is killing me, but the Sonic with a hint of Shelby finally won the battle. The white stripes on the Sonic Blue are amazing, although silver would look good as well. I'll do the rocker stripe, but haven't decided on the Le Mans stripes yet. So many others are doing them because it's so obviously natural on the car. I may leave them off. Hope this site makes the wait easier!
