Well, I finally got my VIN.... I am excited, but bummed at the same time. Dealer says I SHOULD get it before XMas... Build Date is 11/22. Thats still 3 weeks out, plus two weeks minimum after that before I take delivery. I might just say to heck with it and go buy a freakin overpriced one. I cant believe it is going to take 12 weeks to get my car.

Arvil, my order was placed on 9/23.. I was hoping that using a dealer that has one of the largest allocations would mean I could get mine in a decent time frame, but, that doesnt seem to be the case.
If I get it by 12/23 it will be 12 weeks. I am also annoyed by the fact that there are people who ordred after me, and already took delivery of thier cars.

Ordered on 9/23? What priority did they put in as? And did they put it in on time? I ordered on 9/23 as well. My car is sitting on the lot at AAI waiting to be shipped. I know of a few others on here that ordered around that time as well. We all had build dates of 10/25. I'm not ragging on ya, but I wonder if your dealer held up the order for a few weeks.

My husband just called and ripped them up for it, and come to find out, it was ordered on 9/23, but, it went on a Hold. No idea why, but it did. that bumped me back about two weeks.
When I asked my dealer about folks with my order date being built weeks before me, he had no answer. He gets 30 05s. They are not shipping them all at once, and the orders are getting built first. I am #18 out of 25 orders at RSM. I have a priority 10.
He doesnt even expect his next round of 05s to hit his lot until around Turkey Day.
Its an allocation game, and some are getting em, it seems the ones without a lot of pre-orders. RSM is also the only Orange County CA Dealership not marking up, and accepting plans.

I wonder if mine is on a hold. I am number 21 there....being three cars behind yours...I may not get it till January too. I read somewhere that the Ford Plant closes for a couple of weeks arround Christmas. If mine isn't on a hold...maybe it will come the same time as yours Jessica. I am going to call on Monday, and make them move me to a Priority 10. I am at 15 now. maybe that will help.
we shall see...

Hey Jessica, I am in the same boat as you are. Ordered on 09/21 and got a VIN today. The Schedule Date is 11/22 but the Status still says SUB TO PLANT.
What does your status say??
I am confused as to how I have a schedule date but the status has not been set to scheduled.

Hey Rick, the Fleet Manager Daniel is my salesman. He told me when he called with my VIN that the ones behind me are slated as "Clean, Unscheduled". There were 6 of us on Hold. The ones before us didnt go on Hold, and it seems the ones behind me arent, just my @#$%^&* luck! The cars were on hold for about 7-10 days. Once the Hold was lifted we got our VINs and build dates.
I am just mad cuz most times it seems the build date is the week following the VIN assignment. Mine is 3 weeks after VIN assignment.

Jessica, calm down, before you know it, your car will be there, exactly as you want it, at the price you want. Don't give in and get ripped off, because in the long run, it fuels the markup douchebags.
You're right, it's an allocation game. If somebody went in on the same day as you at another dealership that had no orders in on stangs and had available allocation, that person got pulled for production immediately.
We ordered about the same time, the difference being I've known all along that the earliest I'd get my Stang is December
Hang in there! it's almost done

Since mine is a buy back from Ford they were supossed to call MI with the order number so they could go ahead & pull my order & speed it up. But I guess that hasn't happened. So, when I call Mon, if he will give me the order number I will call MI myself & tell them to speed it up.
Anyway. Back on topic. Good luck with the wait. And hopefully it won't be too painful of a wait for you.
