Mine's on order... Enjoy

FORD: 2005 Mustang

ISSUE:
Some 2005 Mustang vehicles may exhibit the fuel tank being slow or difficult to fill. The condition may be described as, repeated rapid shutoffs of the filling station pump nozzle, or multiple nozzle shutoffs when attempting to fill the fuel tank. The condition may be due to the fuel tank vapor venting system inside the fuel tank.

ACTION:
Install a new fuel tank. The new fuel tank has a revised internal venting system to improve fuel filling. Remove the fuel tank assembly per Section 310-01 of the Workshop Manual.

PART NUMBER PART NAME
5R3Z-9002-AA Fuel Tank

WARRANTY STATUS:
Eligible Under Provisions Of New Vehicle Limited Warranty Coverage And Emissions Warranty Coverage

Mine is scheduled to be built week of Feb 28. Does anyone know if Ford will put the new style tank on or will they make me take a trip to the service dept later? Git-r-done right the first time, I hope.

Every car that is being built currently is built using revised parts in areas that have been faulty right?

What's the TSB number.
Remember some dealers act like idiots when you ask them to do any work.

This is excellent news. I only have the problem at certain pump stations. I think it may have to do with nozzle/flow at some stations.

Wow, first I get the Shaker Series B to fix the problems with the audio system, now I'm going to get the new fuel tank to fix the problems with the pump shutoff! I am beginning to think that waiting to place my order is working out to my advantage!

What's wrong with 2005? Keep it in perspective folks. I guarantee you'll see the same number of problems reported on the board next year too.
