FINAL PAYMENT!!!!!!
Made my final payment on my 2005 today!!!!!!!!!! She's officially mine........Now to get that pesky title I have waited so long for........
How many of you guys have your 2005 + already paid for & how long did it take you? And how many are still makeing those payment & how many are left to go? Just curious..........
Now, I've got to figure out what I wanna do next..........lease or buy a 2009 or wait for a 2010. I really want the Grabber Orange..........any idea if it will be offered in 2010? Maybe I should just go a year with no car payment & see how it feels & then decided......I've had a car payment since July 2002.
Any suggestions???????????

Congrats, feels good doesn't it! I started saving in '05 for my '07. Then I ordered it in late '06 and when it came in I wrote a check and walked away with a new car and title in hand. Funny how that little piece of paper feels so good.

Nice one matey. I paid for mine with a large chunk of our life savings, including some redundancy money. I paid just over £17,000 with is about $35,000 in CASH, which is what the seller wanted.
I've never held so tight to a sports bag in all my life!

That has to be a great feeling. I got a few more years to go on mine (did a 6 year, as I plan on never getting rid of the car, and the payments are super low). But I double up some, and pay extra every month, so hopefully in the next year or so, the car will be paid off. I can't wait for that day to arrive.

Within a year and a half. Sold the house and used some of the proceeds to pay for the mustang and other bills and still bought a new place. Thank you rising housing market of 2006.

Bought it for $28k new in June of '07 and had it paid for within 1 year. Saved my bonuses and money from a second job and went into the bank and wrote a check to pay it off just a few days short of one year as I had promised to my wife. Of course she laughed when I said I would pay it off early, but who's laughing now!
Oh and Congrats!

Congratulations. Putting that title in the safety deposit box is a great feeling!
We'd been saving ever since the first prototype of the S197 came to the Auto Show. In August of 2007, we paid cash on the table and drove her home!

Congrats! Mine will be done in 6-8 months and it will be a very nice feeling. What's great is I have no desire for another new car, I still love this one.

i am hoping to have mine paid off by end of next year, or middle of 2010. unfortunately, i have to replace the 2001 escape i have with a newer model, so i wont be able to open the money pit up for another vehicle till maybe 2014... (hey, thats just in time for the new mustang!!!) coincidence?? hmmm

Mine is going to get paid in 2012.
I have 1-1/2 years paid and 3-1/2 more years to go.
That will be just in time probably for a fully redesigned and new platform Mustang.

I would have had my 06 vert paid off months ago, but instead I spent the $$$ on mods and bought my wife a 07 Shelby GT. Man, the addiction is very expensive!

Just last summer I almost cussed a car dealer. They were telling me I was going to HAVE to trade in my 2005 before I could get another car (it was a 2003 stang we were looking at). I told them that the sooner the got it through their head that I was not trading my car, & they were not touching my car, then the sooner we would get along. It took them over 10 minutes to understand that. Needless to say we walked away, because they tried to srew us over on the payments to that car.
But now that my 05 is paid for I am hopng I could get a pretty good deal on a 2009.
Do you guys suggest leasing or buying? I really want to buy but the payments would be less with leasing......so? I've never leased anything before, so I am curious as to the difference. And what about ;easing with the option to buy?

Buy versus lease is such a split deal. In my personal experience, I'd rather own something rather than rent it (which, to me, is what leasing really is). In the end, even if its old, its still mine. Of course, I generally tend to keep my Mustangs for a very long time. My '89 GT I owned for 16 years. She was a garage queen after being a daily driver for 8 of those sixteen. So, it really depends on your long term intentions.
