Ford announce that they have moved the last day to order 2005's from 07/08 to 06/24/2005. If you are waiting til the end, the end just got closer.

 

Would take delivery date be christmas for the 2005? On a more serious note, what happens to the orders that never get built? Are they switched to 2006 models? :scratch:

 

My guess would be they are seeing the size of the back log on orders and trying to end them earlier. It will just give them an extra week to catch up.

I presume any car ordered that late could end up actually being built as a 2006 if the backlog is too big? I wonder why anyone would wait that late and not order a 2006. Seems like the depreciation hit would be huge for a 2005 car that is delivered that close to 2006 intro.

 

This whole thing is just getting a bit ridiculous! If that's the case,I'll just place an order for an '06, buy any existing inventory off dealer lot, or buy a 'vette!

Well...when I order...if I don't get a build date by then...I'll just cancel the whole schmere and reorder for an '06.

 

I'll go out on a limb and say that KARPRO (Ford) means that you can
order and will receive a 2005 Mustang but you must ORDER by 24
JUNE 2005.

It make sense doesn't it? Ford doesn't want you ordering a 2005 on
August 1st, July 15th or even June 25th. The thing that is gonna
make some members mad is that there's bound to be a situation
where some 2005's are held up at the factory and meanwhile someone
who ordered a 2006 will get theirs before a late '05 order.

As an example if you order a 2005 on 13 June then you'll still get
your car AFTER 24 June and it WILL be a 2005 Mustang.
