I pushed my GT pretty hard the other day doing some "canyon carving" at road I found in the Santa Monica / Malibu mountains (Tuna Canyon Rd. - one way, down hill, SUPER twisty, all down hill, 4-5 miles long at least),

#1. I noticed that my gas "alarm" kept going off, telling me I need to fill up quick, this happened all the way down the mountain. Is there any danger in this happening, the computer won't wigg out or anything, I heard that the computer has a "limp home" mode of some sort, how do I tell if this mode is engaged, will it go crazy if it thinks I'm out of gas? I'm new to these computerized cars.

#2. After pushing my car that hard through the turns I noticed that my dash squeeks when I hit a medium-sized bump, or take a turn somewhat sharp. I guess I torqued the car a bit to much around the turns. (time for sub frame connectors I guess!) Anyone else have this dash squeek, did you find a way to fix it? It seems to be coming from either the trim around the guages, or something just above the guages.

#3 One last question, how accurate is the "average MPG" feature? I don't drive my car much (it's a weekend car, I walk to work) and I always forget to write down my mileage so that I can calculate the mileage by hand. Just wondering how accurate the computer is on it's estimation? Anyone compaired the computer to good old math?

1) Low gas could be a sensor issue... or the float was stuck as you were tossing it from side to side. Limp home mode has a WRENCH DASH LIGHT go on, and I'm sure it'll beep and show that on the message center (if you have it) Low fuel will not trigger it as far as I know.

2) Sounds like a dash issue. I don't think Subframe connectors are needed on this car, but maybe a strut brace and some other suspension mods.

3) Its decently accurate but just like any computer it has issues. I think its a 500mile average. 800km for canada. Reset it and do the manual calcs to see how on par it really is.
