Feeling hurt

I was a t a weekly car meet this evening. I was talking to a guy that had a very nice 66 Pony that was parked across from me. This woman with her 7 -9 year old son walks up and says to her son "Now this is a real Mustang".

I said pointing at my car "So what is that". She laughed and walk away. Her l son looked puzzled still stareing at my car.

Relax, she's a chick.... probably didn't even know what your car was because it has no Ford emblems on it.

I agree with Tom. Don't let it get to you. She probably had no idea what she was looking at.

Yeah I've heard comments at car shows also. Doesn't bother me though. I like them all old and new. Although, I would have to say that mine rides much better than my old man's 71 Mach 1. I was faster until he got his 351C 4V stroked. Now I'm going to have to slap a Kenne Bell on.

Your first mistake was trying to argue with a stupid person, other than that some people don't get it. She is entitled to her own opinion no matter how screwed up it is.

I suspect that she would be prejudiced against the early Mercury Cougars or the 79-86 5.0 Capri as well.

you should have asked her why she wasn't in the kitchen and then scratched the side of your face with 'the bird'.

I had a waitress once point to my stang and say "that your car? it's pretty nice. my dad is restoring a 68 mustang for me. Its a REAL car, not some pile of plastic...." I quickly pointed out that her old man had to give her something real, since the two things poking out of her chest were also plastic....she was speechless. she probably found something to say when she got $.01 for a tip for the ninety dollar dinner bill. I later found out that 68 stang was a huge rust bucket....

if im not mistaken, i read an article that explained that the original mustang was based off of the ford falcon and fairlane bodies. sheet metal on the outside was different, but the cars shared most of the interior parts to save costs for ford. anyone can correct me if this is wrong, but if this is right then the lady was wrong in saying that it was a real mustang....seems that if you really think about it, none of the cars except for maybe ferarri's are "real" cars...they are hand built. hope you see her again and get some "real" info to her.
