Through an interesting series of events, I find myself now with not 1, but 2 serialized orders for a 2005 Mustang GT. One is scheduled for build June 6th (I think), the other is scheduled for June 27th. I'm going to cancel 1 of them, I don't really need 2 identical cars.

From the DORA - what is the FDAF Assessement charge? Can one of the folks in sales (Karpro? ISELLFORD?) tell me what that is?

Thank you,
Brad

Why would you be so selfish to have 2 orders? Someone is going to walk off the street and pick up your leftovers when many of us are WAITING AND WAITING.

Have you have gone to the dark side?

FDAF stands for:

Ford
Dealer
Advertising
Fund

Basically there are about 72 different "regions" that advertise together. They pool their money together to help pay for commercials, newspaper ads, and also possibly regional rebates.

Metro Detroit Ford Dealers is our local FDAF which consists of 31 local Ford stores around the Detroit area.

Ah... Since you asked, I'll tell you- I started with an order on 12/8/04 with dealer A, who told me in late Feb. that I wasn't gonna get the car. So I reordered with dealer B. Dealer B gives me the VIN 3 weeks ago.

Dealer A calls me 2 weeks ago and says - I never cancelled the order. It's gonna be built now.

I never intended to be in this position. My handle comes from the depressed state I was in back in Feb. when I was told my order from dealer A was a lost cause.

Sorry Brad,

Thanks for the details and kindness, after all that Ford should give you 2 for the price of one.

I wonder what happen to my dealer A's lost cause?
