I got my New 06 F150 Parts Truck Wednsday an Low and Behold it has Factory Sirrus Radio. Man Is it Cool!
Why Ford Did not Put it in the 05 Up Mustangs is Beyond Me. Anyway when you Get FACTORY Sirrus, You Got to have the obligatory BUMP on The Roof. Now I got to thinking and was wondering if FORD was going to Stick that Nasty Thing on top of the Stang! Man I want an 07 GT/CS and I want Sirrus But no LUMP on The ROOF. Well The GOOD news is the Lump will be on The DECKLID! I Cross Referenced the Shelby Stripe Kit and it Lists the Decklid Stripe Location G as with or without Satelite. So it will be out of the Way of a Factory Shelby Spoiler. This Should also Leave enough Room for an Aftermarket Ducktail. I will Update when the Antenna is Cataloged. BTW the Satellite Is available with the 500 and the 1000 Systems only not on the Base.BTW it's a bit Early to Figure out how a RETROFIT would work. I will Check after Vehicle Release in 6/06

UPDATE
12/09/05 Factory Electrochromatic Mirror with Compass New 07 Option!
12/09/05 Optional Metallic Finish Pedals!

Without that "lump" you'll have no guarantees of decent reception (though many people have found that a "bump" in the rear deck works ok too. Personally I'd be happier had you said the radios were satellite-ready. My experience with satellite is mostly with XM and I'm really happy with the service, the offerings, and the price.

Now if Ford would only announce an agreement (or good alternative to) ONSTAR...

Well I know that from the factory, they would not do this, but when I had My XM reinstalled I had my stereo shop try installing the already extremly small antenna on the dash, and it works great!. I even have the tint strip on top of the window, and I have not had any issues sofar. I do need to tape it down sometime so it quits moving. Sometime this weekend I'll try to post picks,
P.S. Get XM not The doggy company, Just say no to Howard
"Tell em Fred"
O&A and Jimmy Norton are a lot funnier, and the sound quality from XM is better.

hopefully it won't has as many issues as the current shaker systems. It would be nice if those of us that have constant problems could get the upgrade for no extra charge

Do you work for XM Radio or are you just a big fan of the new Ellen Degeneres show on XM?

Who cares what the sound qualtiy is. XM has lost what good programming it had. It's about content and right now XM programming is looking real sad.

I have to disagree with you here V10... XM has decent content and variety in their programming. Aside from Howard what does Sirrius offer? Not a whole lot thats different... Personally I'd rather listen to paint drying than Howard Stern (of course this is simply my personal opinion! ).

Why is it every time that someone likes something They have to "Work for them" It reminds me of when I was a kid and someone remarked "I know you are but what am I" Sound quality should be a main reason to go with a setup. And what content did XM loose MTV radio? The main reason I posted was to state that if you did not want the bump on the exterior of your car there is another option to try and install the antenna on the dash. But if you want to talk about content When good ol Howards channels went live, he had his team of "Farters" on. That's worth my 13 dollars a month..

Wow after Thanksgiving dinner we had our own team of farters live here at our house. Too bad we didn't get a satellite radio deal.

I currently have the Shaker 1000 in my '05 GT. I would love to get Satellite Radio. I wonder if this option would be able to be retro-fitted to work in mine. Can't wait to find out.

The reason why I said that was because you bashed Sirius.
If you like XM fine, say so, but you don't have dump on Sirius.
You're acting like the little boy who has to brag "Mine's bigger than your's".

I know several people who had XM and have switched to Sirius. All of them say Sirius programming is much better, plus Sirius has NFL & NASCAR.

I don't yet have satellite radio, but from everything I've heard about them I'm going to get Sirius. Thank you for helping me to make my decision.

When I installed my XM I was having issues about where to install my antenna. I did not want to put it anywhere on the sheetmetal, so I removed the package tray and installed it underneath the left side headrest fairing.

FYI, I did an A-B comparison with the antenna mounted inside and outside the car and found no discernable change in reception.

Oh, and FRED rules!!!

Thanks Kevin! The mirror will save me some money as it was on my list of additions for my car. Now I can hopefully just get it as an option!
