I think they should retrofit unless there's a design change in 08 which is unlikely.

On another note, does this mean a fogless grill that will fit the GT lower facia???

Isn't it strange that Ford would redesign the headlight reflector assembly for '07 and then come out with HID's in '08 (unless the '07 reflectors will still be standard with the HID's optional). Doesn't make sense why Ford would have a 1-year-only headlight design for '07. What was wrong with the ones on the '05 & '06's?

the saleen HIDs use the OEM ford buckets - the lenses on mine have FORD stamps on them so it would be logical that if Ford offered HIDs, it would be the Saleen system.

Look at the bottom right corner of the saleens. its hard to see, but it is there.

by the way, they are awesome.

We would need some HID fog lights, as well.

I actually saw the 2008 headlights this afternoon in Dearborn. Not only are they HID, but they are slightly different in design as well. The basic overall shape is the same but they had a new, silver looking insert on the insides, around the light. Honestly, I don't know how to describe it, but they are definitely different. Actually they looked identical to the pics of the saleen headlights above.

Silver inserts? Definitely don't have to worry about doing a retrofit.
Who's the idiot making making all these terrible decisions at Ford!?

i think maybe he means that silver part that sticks up to make the cut off lines.

regardless, for a retrofit you'd need to order whole new headlight housings/buckets, not just the inerds...

If you really want to play detective, try to find a contact at Osram Sylvania Lighting.

Well, some articles in Motor Trend have suggested that the Mustang will get an updated appearance for 2008. Those articles said that every major body panel (except for the roof) would be changed. What this means, I do not know .

I see the part you're talking about, but it sounds to me like he's describing the whole bucket like in this pic.

What I meant about the retro fit is I'd love to have the HID's, but there's no way I'd put them in if they had that silver/chrome background. That just looks tacky. Definitely doesn't belong on a Mustang.

Don't like the look, would definitely need to see a picture of the entire car, not just a close up, to comment further.
