My '05 GT had the brake fluid leak that everyone seems to have, and it bubbled off some of the paint on the booster and frame. I took it in to my local dealer to get it fixed, and they replaced the master cylinder and told me on the phone that they would get everything repainted. However, when I went to pick up the car, I found that they had only repainted the booster and hadn't done anything to the stripped paint on the frame. I've argued with the service department several times, but these guys aren't going to paint it. My question is what do I do now? It's not leaking anymore, so I can't see why any other dealer would repaint it under warranty since nothing's leaking. Is this something that really needs to get repainted? I'm not concerned with how it looks, I just don't want anything rusting. I would certainly appreciate any advice. Thanks.
Bypass the service writer - speak directly with the service manager at the dealership and insist your car go to the body shop to have the bubbled spots on the skirt/rail touched up. If the service manager is inept enough to refuse the repair then I would call Ford customer service and request that their regional service rep inspect the car. You have a legitimate warranty issue and this is a known problem so I'm sure Ford will take care of you on this (if it comes to that). When you speak to dealer personnel be firm but don't be rude or get emotional, just be polite and let them know you won't accept a
repair.

Just so you know you aren't the only one that had brake fluid ruin the paint on the frame rail. My '06 GT has the same problem, with only 7,000 miles on it. I caught it after reading a few of the stories on here.
Don't take no for an answer, I think we should try and round up as many people as we can with this problem. There was at least one guy on here who had his frame rail repainted after it happened to his car. PM me with your info if you'ld like, it might make for a better argument if they know that we know that this has happened more than once.
I am seriously contemplating demanding they buy the car back if they refuse to fix it.

They don't care too much if it is a cosmetic issue. However, brake fluid, IIRC, is flammable. With enough seepage, it *might* drip onto a hot exhaust manifold and cause a vehicle fire. Recall the recall for the faulty brake switches mounted in the master cylinders on certain trucks/vans with cruise control.
