But notice the prices: V6 premium € 39500 (= $ 50455  ) and GT V8 Premium € 49500 ( = $ 63229  ).
All due to our tax system on cars....

Well if any of the UK guy's want to see what is likely to be the first one here let me know. I'm US Air Force and my GT should arrive in November. You can see it in the Cambridge area. It was built on friday but shipping and customs allways takes time unless you have lots of money. B)

German import (I believe it's a bit expensive, haven't done any maths on what the difference between buying from those guys and importing it by yourself is): http://www.ford-mustang-2005.de/

[/b][/quote]I'm Here! I originally replied in the Europe forum, I didn't see it in here!
Unfortunately, the £24k for a fully loaded GT is still a little (lot) out of my price range ($43k)
But I am sure that I have a fair amount of equity in my house...............
"Alex, you know you wanted to move to a bigger house? I have a better idea....
"I WANT ONE NOW!!
Zinn, you have an open invitation to come and stay with us up here for a little holiday. We can show you the sights "up North" and you can let me see your car!
(that's a serious invite, it'd be good to meet a fellow "Sourcer"!
I Want one now......... I feel I am beginning to sound like April........... (love ya sweetheart!)
Here are two Swedish dealers that takes orders on the '05:
Von Braun Sports Cars (a Ferrari dealer!!)
Exclusive Cars
Both rate the GT w/ Premium package at around $50,000
I've done a few hasty calculations on private import, and I end up just shy of that figure anyway, with purchase + shipping + customs + VAT (25%!) + registration + inspection + scrapping fee ...and then you have to do all the paperwork yourself and don't get the benefits of dealer warranty + service.
Still, $50K is cheaper than, say, a new Volvo S60R...a weak USD helps a lot.

Did anyone look at the UK performance numbers. If this is accurate, they're quite different:
4.6L 3V V8 5-Speed Manual 9.8:1 300bhp @ 5250 240ft lbs @ 3500
Torque is waaay down for our friends across the pond!

Robert, I got different figures too for the Swedish sources:
4.6L (281 cu in) V8 5-speed manual 9.8:1 300bhp @ 6000 and 315ft lbs @ 4500
Where do different torque numbers come from? If the 315ft lbs (428 Nm) is accurate, then I expect it to rip tarmac through all gears.

The car is not being officially imported (by Ford).
The figures will be exactly the same as a US model (all the company is doing is buying from a US dealer and bringing it over) I can only assume they have mis-read the figures...
Ah just re-read the website, they have used the V6 torque figures for the V8!

Haha, great detective work jgs!
Kinda related question: Can we expect some differences in performance due to re-tuning the engine? I guess that needs to be done since a stock US engine won't run too well on our standard 95 octane fuel (but better that, than the other way around...).
Also kinda stinks they seemed to have dropped the side panel turn indicators on the production GTs. I'd rather have them fit those in-factory than having to drill holes to mount aftermarket variants. Dang safety regulations..
