ERL telling me 1 month total ETA... WOW !!

Called ERL today and it told me I'd have my 07' GT/CS Vert during the week of Sept 3. WOW !! I only ordered it at the dealer on Aug 2 and Ford sent the DORA on Aug 4.

I'm thinking there is an advantage with going with X-Plan. Does Ford bump me up to the front of the line since I used X-Plan? My dealer originally told me 8 weeks, so 4 is a real treat. My 06' took exactly 2 months last year.

Can't wait till early Sept !

Good Luck Dbl E GT. I ordered Jul 11 with a priority of 02. ERL has told me that I was shipped as of Aug 9. Norfolk Southern told me that my rail car will be in "Kentucky" Aug 21. Supposed to have ETA dealership "week of Aug 21" so I'm hoping for delivery and Pick up somewhere around Aug 24 in NE Florida. GOOD LUCK

Jim-
The best of luck for a quick delivery for you too ! I don't think there is a priority lower than 10, but I could be wrong. My priority was 18, however I think the X-Plan had something to do with speeding things up.

I'm not even going to bother tracking the car once ona rail, or truck, or who knows, since that would just make me nuts ! I must admit, I did do that on my 06' delivered last year, however this time when it comes in, it comes in !

Take care.

Ford just continues to p!ss me off. Threw down my order on July 5th on the x-plan and I am still waiting for my order to get pulled from the queue and get a VIN assigned and here you go with another person with a 4 week order to delivery date. I congratulate you man but I am BENT!

My Mustang is off the railcar and on a truck somewhere but no one knows exactly where it is. New car manager was hoping for delivery late last night.

I would guess dealer volume would have more to do with order to delivery time but that is just my thought. In general it seems like people ordering from small dealers have had the most stories about there cars taking a long time to come. I ordered mine on X plan through a large dealer in Metro Atlanta and it is going to be 6-7weeks from order to delivery.

Its all about allocation of your dealer and options ordered. You will wait longer for a vert, GT and stick. Order all three with a low volume dealer (like I did) and you wait from December to July.

I ordered all those options (loaded.. see signature), but believe its because its from a large dealer in Central NJ. They get very good allocation, plain and simple. I agree it would have been different had I ordered from a rural dealer.

Unfortnunately, I meet all these criteria (Canadian dealer) Could I reallly have to wait in excess of 6 months?

Probably not. My circumstances were a bit unusual. Somewhere in that time was a two week shutdown over July 4th and a 6 week wait for job 1 of the 07s to start (my order was accepted 4/26 and job 1 was 6/5). I would figure on your wait being between 5-12 weeks.

When I put my order in the first time at another rural dealer they said 3 to 5 months so if you dealer is small time like mine is, be prepared to wait a long time while buddies on here pass you by.

Can you tell I am a cranky SOB?

Cool

My new "any day now" date is now tomorrow the 19th..that would be exactly 8 weeks +1 day from when the dealer sent the order in. I am only pissed b/c the salesman got my hopes up last week (Aug11th) by suggesting "any day". They did say 8-10 wk delivery (it is a GT auto vert by the way).
Should have known better than to listen to that bozo.

It took just under 8 weeks from order to pickup on mine with the 2 week factory shutdown in the middle of it. Supposedly mine had a priority of 10. It has the 64w wheels and manual tranny both of which were allocation problems at the time I ordered (it didn't matter, I was going to wait it out as long as it took ) It seems conceivable that others might be getting 4 to 6 week delivery times now that production is in full swing after the shutdown.

I'm not sure what the impact is on Mustang production, but I just heard on the radio yesterday that Ford is cutting way back on production due to slow sales and another big quarterly loss for 2q06. I can't remember the numbers, but it seems like they said they'll be cutting 1/3 of the current production! Since the Mustangs are the one bright spot on Ford's bleak landscape, I assume they'll stay at full production.

July 5th??? You haven't been waiting long at all. You could have placed your order on May 1st like yours truly and still be waiting. If I'm lucky, I'll have mine by mid-September.......4 1/2 months or 18 weeks after ordering it.

Seems crazy to wait so long. On the other hand, in May when you ordered, there were no 2007s around yet. Why yours was not one of the first produced is beyond me??

Good luck and I hope you get yours soon. You'll be very happy with it !

From the articles that I've seen, I thought the production slowdown only affected those vehicles with weakened demand, like SUV's, minivans and some pickups. I'd be surprised if Ford slows down production on their cash cow as long as the demand is there.

At least that's what I'm hoping with my car on order.

Your dealer has good allocation and there were probably very few, if any, orders ahead of you in this time period. That is blazing fast!

Like Tres mentioned, there was the 2-week shutdown that affected a number of people who ordered around that time.

X-Plan doesn't necessarily get you in faster but it sure helps on the price.

Congrats!

PS - There are priorities lower than 10, but I think they have to be set by the dealership management and regional sales office staff.

But just think - you could find out where the freight truck is and meet it and follow it into town JK - but you guys are making me think I'll be LUCKY to see my order arrive in 8 weeks - just when I'm thinking I can't bear to wait even that long.....

Dbl E GT,

Looked at the order again - Pri 02. That may have helped a little on the production part, don't know - produced in about 25-26 days. However its been "shipped via rail carrier since Aug 9!!!" Two weeks to get from Flat Rock to NE FLa is a LONG LONG time.
