Eibach sportline

I have an 07 gt and I installed the eibach sport springs for a 2" drop all the way around and I'm looking at replacing my shocks and struts. Can I put oem back on or do I need a specific kind of shock/strut?

It's definitely recommended to upgrade from OEM to aftermarket shocks/struts as lowering your suspension from the OEM height down to 1.5 inches and below change the geometry of your suspension and travel distance..

Being that your going to be lowering from OEM to a 2 inch drop, you're more than likely are going to need to upgrade to caster/camber plates, as the stock camber bolts will no longer have enough adjustment for keeping your front end alignment within factory specs, causing uneven and premature tire wear..

I would also recommend upgrading your LCA's along with your upper control arm, adjustable panhard rod, both your front and rear sway bars and you'll definitely need to purchase a bumpsteer kit as well..

As far as upgrading from oem to aftermarket, can I just get a set of shocks and struts from American muscle that work with the 2007 model or should I get a set of shocks that are 2 inches shorter?

American Muscle is a great source and would highly recommend getting Koni struts and shocks from them.. They're one of the top aftermarket companies in the industry and Koni also offers a full lifetime warranty along with their 20-25% off sale annually as well..

Just make sure you get the Koni yellow adjustable's and not the orange STRT's.. As the Koni yellows have much better quality and are made in Holland where as the Koni STR'T orange dampers are made in Mexico and have been known to fail due from factory defects..

What benefit does the adjustable strut have over the non adjustable? Does it adjust stroke or does it just stiffen the strut?

With adjustable's you can choose between softening when you want stock ride quality under normal driving conditions and then stiffening for improved handling/cornering under spirited driving conditions..

However you cannot adjust the height whatsoever, as you would have to upgrade to coilovers in order to make adjustments for both dampening/height and rebound..

Don't get the Koni oranges. Somethings... not right with them.

They may be lifetime warranty, but... I wouldn't do it again now that I've got 'em. One of 'ems already groaning, and I looked at how they do their warranty...

Either I buy another one, ship the groaner, and then they can refund me when they verify it's broke... and they don't decide that I installed it wrong or something.

OR, I could take it off the car (which means I run around on what, exactly?) and ship it to them whereupon they'll replace it for free... if they don't decide that I installed it wrong or something.

Yeah. Sounds great.

I think I'll just replace them oranges later on down the road with something else. Except the lil' bit of groaning, they work, so puttin' up with it for now.

Exactly why I recommended the OP look into Koni yellow adjustable's.. They're much better quality made in Holland and not Mexico as are the Koni Oranges..

I've had my Koni yellows almost a year now and couldn't be happier
