Dyno Results: 2007 Mustang GT w/ 4.6 DOHC swap and 76mm turbo

This project came in with a nightmare turbo system..............I'll just leave it on that note!
The only thing of old turbo system that was retained was the intercooler, wastegate, BOV and TurboSmart boost controller. Given the guy's budget, It turned out quite nice.

A few specs:
Stock Cobra spec Aluminator with relatively mild cams

Sullivan lower and upper intake with stock 3V FBW throttlebody

Relocated oil filter and added an oil cooler.

Modified driverside cam cover with second cam sensor.......needed to be able to keep the stock 3V computer

Upgraded fuel system

Stock 07 MAF with MAFia

6060 Tremec with twin disc clutch

It has 3.73 gears in the rear, but the stock 3.31 would have been much better suited for his usage.

6pt rollbar bolted in with removable door bars.

The car drives like stock until you plant your foot.

During a couple 100 mile shakedowns, the car averaged over 22mpg. This was with quite a few full throttle runs to get the boost controller set and just make sure it had no problems.

Here's a few pictures of the engine bay.

SNEAKY!!!!!!!!!!!! Ya can't really see the intercooler.

On 14 psi, it made 624RWHP/588RWTQ. That was a "cold run" if you can call a run at 7pm in Phoenix cold. The other run on the dyno was from the previous night and was a real word hot run with the engine and everything heat soaked.

Sweet, the elctronics has me wondering though, would have finding and swapping a GT500 computer and engine harness in been a real PITA?

I ask, only because the 5.4 DOHC doesnt use VVT and as far as I know doesn't have a cam sensor.

In any event, great work and pretty neat solution to the VVT issue.

The 5.4 is actually a simple swap, but VERY involved. We performed on on a 07 GT vert. You don't just replace the engine harness and use the GT500 computer.
The 5.4 DOHC does have a cam sensor on the driverside.

Are they stock internals or forged. I thought the guts limit was 450 hp. In any case that is one sweet ride. Nice work

I'm just throwing a guess out here... buuuut, he made a swap from SOHC to DOHC, threw a turbo on there, and didn't have to change any internals? Do you really think he'd skimp out on that? I'd be willing to bet that he didn't.
