Well my foot just about got numb. So I get just about right in front of the Casino right on the strip and I pull away from a stop and I fumbled with the clutch and the tired barked a tiny bit as I rolled away. It was just a tiny squeal, nothing major. No joke 2 seconds later there's a patrol car right behind me that came out of NO WHERE, must have pulled out of the side street. Now I've been going to this beach for the last 10 years every Friday night and I've never seen anybody get pulled over by a cruiser. Sure enough the blues come on and I pull over. The dialogue went something like this.

cop: license and registration
me: here you go
cop: you just learning to drive your car?
me: no why
cop: then why did you PEEL OUT back there?
me: I didn't mean to my foot slipped off the clutch
cop grunts and goes back to his car
(the lady friend proceeds to start laughing at me)

Then I start really getting ****ed off at this point. These cops at this beach are real , they are rude to everybody and don't give any breaks. I know for sure that I'm going to get a ticket. I wasn't so ****ed about the ticket, I was only ****ed that if I was going to get a ticket for peeling out I would have done a line lock show in front of everybody on the main part of the strip. At this point there are about 300 people watching me. A little fat kid is pointing and laughing at me with one hand and holding an ice cream cone in another about 10 feet from my car. The embarassment was punishment enough, forget the ticket I dont care about that.

cop comes back with just my registration and license in his hand (pheww)
cop: I'm just going to give you a warning. Everybody says that they didn't mean to do it and I'm not going to make any conclusions. Just learn to drive with your clutch or Hampton Beach isn't for you.

Rediculous

Fifth time I've gotten pulled over in this car, and all warnings. YOU CAN'T TICKET ME!!!!

Should have told him, that's nothing I could have done it for a couple hundred feet if I really wanted to.

Now top this story, years ago I had a 73 Camaro, metallic brown with SS stripes, 350 and 4spd and was blasting down a back road at 125mph, tried to evade the cops but over shot a turn ended up in a field and got off with a noisy muffle ticket. I used to get pulled over at least twice a week in that thing and most of time I was just getting hassled.

No, he would have posted it.
The cops have been really busy around town lately since the snow is gone, but they prefer to chase rice.

I'm 35. Been pulled over over 10 times in my life. Gotten 7 tickets and beaten everyone of those in court. If you read up on laws and such, you can always create doubt whether or not you were breaking the law.
Once I was approached by the D.A. as I was leaving court. (he took his lunch breaks in the back of the court room and watched the proceeding for a daily laugh) The D.A. told me that if I wasn't currently going to school to be a lawyer I should really consider it. in that particular case... not only was my ticket dismissed, the judge made the officer formally apologize to me for wasting my time.
Now that I'm 35 however, I can't buy a ticket it seems... (knocking on wood)

This thread IS old. Yes I would have posted it if I got pulled over. I did get pulled over one more time after this: http://forums.bradbarnett.net/showth...827#post699827 This summer will be interesting with no cats/no mufflers

I've since moved to Salem, the cops there all have dash mounted radar that is constantly on. My radar detector picks them all up a mile away so I have tons of warning

Maybe one more story.(I'll make it fast)

So, I was waiting to turn left at a light and traffic was coming so I gave it a little more gas than normal (pushing it to maybe 3500-4000 rpms). Well, about 2 miles down the road I look in the mirror to see a cop rolling up fast with his lights on and pulls me over, so I obliged. After running my info he returned my id and registration and told me "That if my car looks fast, it probably is fast, and your car looks fast. So, just be careful."

I have to say that is the nicest cop I have ever met. But, I have never been pulled over for what the cop referred to as "Taking a corner too fast."

They use LIDAR out here in CA, and don't turn it on until they've already targeted your car.. without Laser jamming, no detector has time to warn you before you're toast... I got pinched yesterday by LIDAR... 59 in a 40.

Since we are telling stories. About 6 years ago I had one of my fox body GT's and my girlfriend had a 72 Monte Carlo. We worked together and had just got off work (2am, no traffic). We wanted to get home....to....well........have some fun, winner gets something special. So we were racing each other down Laurel Canyon Blvd. Stupid, I know, but we were young. We are sitting at a red light, revving the cars up, light turns green and we gun it. I notice a crown vic (cop) coming towards us so I slow down, she's still gunning it. I get on the cell phone and tell her to get home (it is only another block away) and I just cruise, waiting for the cop to pull me over, which he did. I am sitting there trying to come up with a story to tell him, then I just decide to be honest. He asks "Having fun?", I said "yeah". "do you know the owner of that Monte Carlo you were beating?", I said "yeah". I just told him, it was my girlfriend, we had been working all day and night and we just wanted to get home and have some fun. He took my info and everything, I had no tickets on my record. He left me sitting there for what seemed like an eternity. I got other things on my mind, just give me the ticket. He comes back laughing, with his partner, just tells me this. "Thanks for being honest, watch your speed and wear some protection, have a nice night". Ever since then, every time I have ever got pulled over I have just been completely honest with them and I have only got warnings. Knock on wood.
