So I'm heading over to the lady's house last night and had another run in with "the man". It was late and dark. Anyway to get to her house in Salem it's a one lane road the whole way with very few places you can pass. So I end up behind this guy with handicap plates doing 28 in a 30. I'm going out of my mind. Lucky for me the road then very briefly turns to 2 lanes, then back to 1. So all I do is downshift and drive around the guy and it's going to be smooth sailing. Anyway I see the blues come racing up behind me about 1/4 mile up the road and I know who he's coming for, certainly not the geriatric patient I passed. Well lucky for me, where I decided to downshift was right in front of a Dunkin Donuts and apparently this cop ran out of the place with donut in hand to chase after me. Gotta love small NH towns with nothing to do. I totally didn't see the guy.

So the convo goes something like this:

cop: DUDE, your car sounds AWESOME but speeding by me isn't the way you want to get my attention! (the cop is giggling)
me: uh
cop: Any particular reason why you are speeding tonight?
me: nope not really
cop smiles and goes back to his car

So I'm in freak out mode right now. I've got a bad feeling I'm finally going to get a ticket this time. I mean this is the 6th time I've gotten pulled over with 5 warnings under my belt. My luck is going to run out this time I know it. But then I start thinking that the guy really had no idea how fast I was going. Definately had no radar on because I would have seen that with my Escort. I figure I can at least haggle my way out of this one in court

cop comes back
cop: I know you probably don't have much place to get on this thing around here, but don't do it in Hudson

I don't know if you're lucky for never getting a ticket, or unlucky for the way you keep getting pulled over.

I thought you could legally speed if you were passing someone in an oncoming traffic lane.

 

When I worked in that town, I worked nights. All of us would be on the road every night after 11pm. They would stop people all the time for silly things.Very few tickets, lots of stops.
One guy had to go to the police chief and tell them to knock it off. He got stopped almost once or twice a week and he lived in town. Never gave him a ticket though, ever.
I got hit by an old man there once. He bashed in the side of my car after he crossed the solid double yellow. They charged me with the accident and said they had an eyewitness. I was stopped at the time!!! The guy at the body shop the next day said," I got one question for you. How did you hit him with the side of your car?" When I told him I was stopped and got rammed, he understood. He had seen that kind of police report before.

...and im 19

3 times for street racing
2 times for drifting
1 for neon lights
1 for no front plate
1 for "80" when i was going basically the speed limit in cc
1 for not signaling because my light bulb was out when i did signal

one ticket that was so obnoxiously given that i won the case with a simple trial by declaration letter tho
