can anyone tell me the size of the subs in the doors, and where the amps are mounted for the mach 1000? I have looked at the visteon site and cant get any information, I have also looked in the onwners manual and can't find info there either. Surely someone knows this info, I am looking at replacing the subs up front and would like to know the size. NOT REPLACING the amps, just want to know where they are because I have seen where thery were in an 04 but I do not see them in the latest 05 pictures.

Go to a stereo installation store. Most have the same database, which was just updated with the 2005 mustang info. I know this because I bought an alarm system and a technician showed me the database. Every detail you could possibly want. This was at CarToys btw...but if you have a CircuitCity, that's a good place to get the info too.

 

Shaker 1000, new system.

 

According to Dan and Steve (Galaxie), with the Shaker 1000 the doors do not house subs...but rather some sort of component speaker system. In the Shaker 500, the doors house 8" subs (I measured a preproduction car a few months back). As far as amp placement, no clue.
