Does the Message Center have a welcome message?
#1
I've seen some pictures of the message center that say "Clear for Take off" and "Welcome to Mustang Source" - are these photoshopped or does the IUP have a programmable welcome message?
I've not seen anything in the press releases that mention this...
If it's there, what's yours say?

I noticed that too, Paul!
Whatever you have the message center set to display, it will automatically switch over to the "Low Fuel - ** miles to empty" when the tank drops bewlow a certain point; about the 50 miles to empty mark, I think.

it'd be interesting to see those pictures.. i'm sure one can tap into the EEPROM where the message text is stored and mess about a bit, never seen or heard of it being done though

I've cropped out the dial and uploaded to my own host...
Would be nice if there's a way to do it through the OBD connections if it's not a standard feature... wonder if these were real or if they're photoshopped then...
And yup... you're a short drive away How's your Stang coping with the summer heat? No problems?
You have V-kool in Dubai right? Looking at those large fast-back windows, I think V-kool is going to be my FIRST addition!

Mine tells me I don't drive it enough. Only 4,000 miles on it since May.

"DRIVE ME"
3600 miles since 05-05-05
Would be cool to display customizable (new word?) phrases.
NOT GOING FAST ENOUGH
GOING TOO SLOW
MUST PASS CARS IN FRONT OF YOU
FUEL DEPLETION NOT FAST ENOUGH
CARS IN REAR GETTING TOO CLOSE
IDOTS ON ROAD AHEAD (Although this one need not be displayed to be apparent)
IDIOTS ON READ BEHIND YOU (See above)
YOU ARE NOW ENTERING HEAVEN
0 MILES TO PARADISE

i've installed Solar Guard on my tibi, the shop here is called AfterDark (by Lamcy Plaza)
the film gets cut by the computer to an exact match of your glass, with a lifetime guarantee against fading, scratches, etc..
cost me around 1,500Dhs ($400 USD) to get the sides and rear 40% black, and a transparent UV protection for the front.
the mustang is yet to come.. her birthday is probably next week.. still waiting on my dealer here to give me the DORA so i can finally call up the ERL and add some dates on my signature

I love the CDC glass top and will be ordering one of those and apparently it has a solar film on it already... and the windows will definitely get V-kool... I want the open-top feel, but I also want the protection against larger SUV's that the hard top will offer over the convertible... and I also don't want to be like a greenhouse in there!
I remember looking at a Lumina SS Coupe (GTO for the americans here!) a while back and it had been parked outside at the dealer... VERRRRRRY hot interior and I think anything with large aerodynamic windows here NEEDS V-Kool or something similar.
DORA? ERL?
Did you custom-order yours then or did the dealer just not have what you wanted in stock? My local dealer has a red GT coupe with a red interior but it's an AUTOMATIC!
Why you would get a red sports car with an auto I have no idea!!!

ERL: Evil Robot Lady
basically whenever a dealer places an order with ford, they receive a "DORA" which can then be used to track the order status by calling the ERL number and providing the Dealer code and VIN (all found on the DORA)
i initially ordered a screaming yellow manual GT (same specs as in my signature, only difference is the color), but they messed up the order and got it Auto..
was left with 2 options, either i wait till March 2006 for the next shipment which would have a manual screaming yellow.. or i change the color as the yellow was already built auto
long story short, i'm now waiting for my Tungsten grey 2006 due anytime in December
EDIT: i'm now waiting.. i'm always waiting!
note to self: no more posting while drunk
