I think the only good thing about this is that it will force Ford to step up to the plate and keep competive/reasonable prices and offer more on the Mustang such as additional perks, options and possibly increases HP. Competition is always good rather than a monopoly in its category. Maybe even some cash back. Companies say they are out there for the customer but when they produce a new car they dont have any cash back options. In about 1-2 years when there are Stangs all over the road Ford will be going crazy with the cash back options. Its all a money game. But hey, its a business world and I understand that they need to make as much as profit as possible.
...man did they go cheap and miss the mark on that one.

Actaully it is $5-6 a gallon. They do sale the gas their by the liter but again it adds up to $5-6 a gallon. Believe me, I know as I grew up in Greece and I was their last year and fixing to go back in 2 weeks.

Gasoline won't reach $5.00 or $6.00 any time soon. Current prices are a market glitch - the mid-term estimate is that oil prices will fall substantially in the next few years. (Producers are producing flat out right now to take advantage of higher prices. At some point new production will overtake consumption and prices will fall. I'm not exactly sure of current estimates but there are at least 663 billion barrels of proven reserves of conventional oil in the Middle East alone. This is supplemented by over a trillion barrels of unproven reserves.
Additionally, according the the US Geological Survey oil is the fuel of the future. There is more alternative oil in this hemisphere in the form of tar sands in Canada and heavy oil fields in South America than there are proven reserves in all of the Middle East. According to their estimates it would cost an additional 50 cents per gallon to refine this alternative oil into the gasoline we all know and love today. (This estimate was from last year - before prices spiked. Right now my local gas station is about 20 cents away from the USGS estimate to make alternative oils economically viable.)
Venezuela estimates it's own heavy oil reserves at around 4 trillion barrels; thet's trillion with a tr! The Atasca Tar Sands also contain over a trillion barrels of unconventional oil. Additionally there are huge quantities of shale oil here in the US that could also be exploited.

Ya, but then there's the fact that i'm having serious breathing problems thanks to the heat and smog in my city right now. darn grand prix tourists, clogging up my streets and lungs...
i think popping in an IRS at the next major overhaul in 2010 or whatever would be a good idea, cause this dodge will definitely have one and would be a definite selling point over the mustang, regardless of how well the SRA performs.
The sweetest thing about the Dodge Charger and doug's chop is that its got HIPS. This mustang NEEDS hips. I'm pretty sure this challenger will get em, seeing as they put hips on a sedan. I was hoping the SVT mustang would've gotten some, but i guess that woulda been way too expensive. So hopefully the next gen mustang will get em.

I don't want to be a bummer, but if this thing gets a Hemi (which it most likely will considering DCX is putting in every car it can fit into) don't expect the Mustang to get a buch more HP to compete with it. Recent history (mid to late 90's and early 00's) have shown us that as long as the Mustang sells, Ford doesn't have a problem with it being less powerful than its competitors (namely when it still went head to head with the LS1 GM's).
I would HOPE that this is not the case, but I am just being realistic.
